ITV Dancing On Ice 2022 final sees all three couples score 40 out of 40 in the first round

It's the night many ice-skating fans have been looking forward to: the final of Dancing on Ice 2022. This year's final three celebrity contestants, Regan Gascoigne, Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt, and their professional ice-skating partners, are pulling out all the stops in the hopes they will be crowned Dancing on Ice champion.

And the show got off to a fantastic start, with all three couples having scored top marks 40 out of 40 in their first routines. Dancer Regan Gascoigne and skating partner Karina Manta opened the show with an entertaining performance of Step In Time from Mary Poppins, which scored 40 out of 40, before performer and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and her professional skating partner Mark Hanretty performed an elegant, lyrical skating routine and also scored 40 out of 40.

Former star of Strictly Come Dancing Brendan Cole and his skating partner Vanessa Bauer then performed a striking performance of a "Matador on ice" and scored top marks 40 out of 40 too! Whilst all three pairs have impressed the judges, there can only be one winner - so all eyes will be on the pairs' upcoming performances later this evening.

Viewers have been waiting for tonight's final for a fortnight, as the live episode had to be pushed back a week to make room for the FA Cup quarterfinal matches last week which took the coveted 7pm Sunday evening slot on ITV.

As usual, the final is being presented by dynamic duo Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and each of the finalists will have two ice-dances to perform each. As well as this, the final will also see a group performance involving all those eliminated from this year series' and the usual back-stage banter with Holly, Phil and former competitors offering their words of wisdom and commentary throughout.

Dancing On Ice continues now on ITV and ITV Hub.
