ITV Corrie 'team' including Summer Spellman star relax away from the cobbles after on-screen reunion

A 'team' of Coronation Street's youngest stars were enjoying the start of their weekend as they hung out together. Harriet Bibby, Elle Mulvaney, Jack James Ryan and James Craven are proving they're a close knit group on and off-screen.

Taking to Instagram, Jack - who plays Jacob Hay in the ITV soap - shared a snap of the four-piece squad as they relaxed in a hot tub.

The actor, who made his debut on the cobbles as the young drug carrier in 2020 before returned later last year, posted the snap and tagged his co-stars. It was quickly re-shared by Harriet, who plays Weatherfield's Summer Spellman, who wrote: "The Team," with a blue heart.

James' appearance with Jack, Harriet, and Elle - who is best known for portraying Corrie's Amy Barlow - comes after her made his on-screen return to the cobbles on Friday night. The actor is playing Aaron in the Salford-based soap, a lad Summer met at the diabetic support group.

He paid a visit to Summer in hospital after he saw a picture she posted of her hooked up to machines. The teen ended up having to leave her maths exam earlier after being unable to see. Summer hasn't been using her insulin and without her diabetes kit with her in the exam hall, she was taken to the hospital.

While laid up in a hospital bed, Summer was questioned by her concerned guardian Billy Mayhew other whether her neglecting her condition was being done on purpose. Later, Aaron visited the hospital and apologised for previously rejecting her. Earlier this month Summer was crushed when her new friend said he didn't want to see her anymore.

It came after he rushed off in the middle of a deep conversation in which Summer opened up about her struggle with her body image. He tried to tell her she was 'gorgeous' but the future uni student bravely spoke about her eating disorder, clearly wanting to be honest before starting their romance. But Summer was left crushed when Aaron appeared uncomfortable and made a swift exit.

Seeing Summer again, Aaron explained the reasons behind his behaviour, telling Summer he couldn't handle the news of her having an eating disorder because he too has one. Despite knowing Summer had skipped an injection before the exam, he suggested they try hanging out together again, on the condition that she could look after herself and take her insulin properly.

An off-screen meet-up for Summer and Aaron stars Harriet and James comes a few weeks after the pair melted hearts when they shared photo together from the soap's belated Christmas party. "In heels and we’re still little and large," joked Harriet as she shared a photo on her Instagram. James quipped: "Shhhh I’m just closer to the camera… it’s all a trick." Elle replied "Cuties" with a heart emoji.
