The Coronation Street cast are a supportive bunch and have proved so once again as they flooded Georgia Taylor with compliments as she got herself 'holiday ready'. The actress, who plays Toyah Battersby in the ITV soap, took to Instagram over the weekend after paying a trip to the salon.
Wigan-born Georgia, 42, is preparing to ditch the cobbles and jet away to a so far undisclosed location. And before she does, she took a trip to the hairdressers to get her hair done in time for the getaway.
"Hair is holiday ready! Thanks again to the brilliant @hair_by_carmenedmondson," she shared alongside a bunch of snaps to her thousands of followers showing off her freshly dyed do which featured some silvery blonde tones which glistened in the light.
Gareth Pierce, who plays Corrie's Todd Grimshaw, was among the first in the comments showing his hairdressing knowledge by saying: "Cracking balayage right there." But Georgia was quick to reply and tell him: "Actually a full head of ‘baby lights’ this time! But I know you knew that really."
Kel Allen, who left the soap earlier this year as Laura Neelan, said: "So blummin’ gorgeous! I LOVE ITTTT!" She was echoed by Abi Franklin actress Sally Carman who wrote: "Really gorgeous!" with a string of flame emojis.
Lisa Geroge, who stars in the long-running soap as Beth Sutherland, replied: "I love it!!" While Rovers landlady Jenny Connor, aka actress Sally Ann Matthews, told Georgia: "Have a well deserved break!"
While Georgia may be headed off for a relaxing break, her character isn't having the most straightforward of times on the cobbles. Toyah is currently fighting with her own conscience after she and new husband Imran Habeeb were giving custody of his son, Alfie, whom he shares with Abi Franklin.
And there is set to be a huge week on the cobbles for the councilor after the long-running soap teased 'carnage' on the cobbles last week with a 40-second trailer featuring Imran and Abi as their parental fight ramps up. As their fight for custody of baby Alfie intensifies, the residents of Weatherfield will face the consequences in an unmissable week of episodes of the ITV soap.
Appearing on Lorraine Kelly's self-titled ITV show last week, Georgia teased what was to come. Speaking about her on-screen partner, the soap star told Lorraine. "It’s lie upon lie. You kind of think, will the ghosts of all of Imran’s misdemeanors catch up with him? The answer is, it’s a soap – so yes. But the question is, what will the repercussions be, and what will they be for Toyah as well?"
