ITV Corrie star who plays Stephen's wife has been in the soap before as spouse of another con man

Businessman Stephen Reid has been hiding his dark side since arriving in Weatherfield to come to his mother Audrey Roberts' rescue. Last week Corrie fans saw the hotshot lose his cool as he flew into a rage when he found out he wasn't getting his hands on Audrey's cash.

She announced that, rather than going through with a trust fund, she would be making a normal will for everyone apart from Stephen who had been kind enough to say he didn't need any of her money. Shortly after he was seen taking his anger out on some wheelie bins.

Broke and desperate he was then seen shopping for a new suit at a charity shop. Later he wormed his way into Jenny Connor's affections after discovering she was the landlady of the Rovers Return pub.

After he smooched with Jenny in the backroom at the Rovers, putting her in a position to be blackmailed after her recently dumped boyfriend Leo Thompkins returned to pop the question, Stephen's wife Gabrielle made a surprise arrival.

She told him she wants the £200,000 euros back that he stole from her company or she’s going to the police. Fans might recognise that Gabrielle is played by someone who appeared in the ITV soap in 2019.

Helene Maksoud played May Radfield, the wife of fraudster Duncan Radfield who put Sally Metcalfe behind bars just three years ago. Duncan befriended Sally and told her that he wanted to use a council grant to set up a charity in memory of May, who he claimed had died from a stroke.

This paved the way for Duncan to scam the council out of thousands and frame former Mayor of Weatherfield Sally for the crime. As the drama unfolded conman Duncan was knocked down by a van in shocking Coronation Street scenes after he declared himself "untouchable."

Duncan was being chased by Tim Metcalfe who is desperate to get a confession out of him for framing his wife Sally for money laundering, fraud and bribery. Fans heard his 'dead' wife May really was alive as her voice came from his dropped mobile phone asking "Duncan, what's happening? Are you there?"

May rushed to Weatherfield to see him and she was tracked down by Sally's sister Gina Seddon, explaining Duncan's actions and the effect that it'd had on Sally. May went with Gina to Duncan's bedside and pushed him into confessing.

Corrie viewers now fear for Stephen's wife and think a murder could be on the cards. @Beckie_Miller_tweeted: "I think Stephen’s wife might meet with an unfortunate 'accident' soon." @deanobeanos wrote: "Will Stephen's wife maybe have a little accident?" And @mikepriestley13 said: "I have a feeling Stephen could end up killing his ex wife."
