Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has shared how she was left gutted - along with many others - after missing out. The actress, who is known for playing Maria Windass in the ITV soap, was one of thousands attempting to bag tickets to the Eurovision Song Contest as the tickets went on sale.
Tickets for the competition's return to the UK went on sale on Tuesday (March 7) and tickets to the grand final sold out in just over half an hour. It is thought this is the first time tickets to all nine live Eurovision shows have sold out on the first day.
The final of international singing competition will take place at the 11,000-capacity Liverpool Arena on May 15 while the semi-final shows will begin on May 9. The event is being held in the city after the UK was chosen to host the competition on behalf of war-torn 2022 winner Ukraine.
Taking to Instagram, Samia spoke to the camera as she sat on her sofa and said: "So, I've just put my little one to bed and I've been busy all day so I've not really had time to process that the Eurovision Song Contest tickets went on sale today and they literally sold out in seconds and I didn't even get a look in."
The soap star added: "I'm so gutted. I'm the biggest Eurovision fan and I can't believe that the one year it comes to the UK, literally dwon the road in Liverpool, and I have no tickets. I'm going to have to watch it on the telly and have a party at home like I always do. Which will be fine, because it will. But still... bummer."
She then captioned the clip posted to her Instagram Story: "First world probs but if you [heart] the Eurovision you will understand," before adding the hashtag: "Nil Points".
Samia has since returned to Instagram and shared a rare snap alongside her teenage daughter to mark International Women's Day. The 40-year-old posted a beaming selfie of the pair with sprawling countryside views behind them. And Freya, who Samia shares with her ex-husband Matthew Smith, looked just like her mum with them both sporting shoulder length blonde locks.
"Happy #InternationalWomensDay," Samia penned alongside the image. "Proud to be raising a strong and independent young one," she added before adding the hashtag: "My Girl."
Samia is also proud mum to her son Yves with husband and Dancing on Ice star Sylvain Longchambon. Over the weekend, Samia showed her support to her husband after he was knocked out of the ITV skating competition just before the final with celebrity dance partner, Samia's Corrie co-star, Mollie Gallagher.
