Millie Gibson spent her weekend celebrating her first big award win but it was soon back to work for the young Coronation Street star. The actress, who has shot to fame in the role of Kelly Neelan, couldn't believe it when she took home a gong at the British Soap Awards on Saturday night.
The 17-year-old channelled Hollywood glamour in a silky white gown with plunging back detail as she hit the red carpet with her fellow soap stars for the glitzy event which returned for the first time after two years away due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Phillip Schofield hosted the soapy bash which was held live at the Hackney Empire and aired live on ITV. And as already mentioned, it was a big night for Millie took home the prize for Best Young Performer. It comes after the star, from Broadbottom, has had a busy time on the ITV soap.

She was part of the shocking hate crime storyline, inspired by the tragic story of goth Sophie Lancaster who was killed in 2007, which saw Kelly finding herself charged with a murder she didn't commit before being cleared, only to end up homeless. More recently, the character found out about her dad's death days before her mum, Laura Neelan played by Kel Allen, also died after taking the wrap for husband Rick's murder.
As she got on stage to collect her first major award, Millie said she had been 'unbelievably lucky' to have been given the 'most hard-hitting and compelling' storylines before adding she'll be 'forever honoured'. She went on to shout out her co-stars whom she worked closely with on the hate crime storyline and made sure not to forget her family.
And it must have been a big night as Millie shared a morning after the night before snap alongside Paddy Bever, who missed out on a nod for his portrayal of Corrie's Max Turner.
However, it was back to the grind as Millie was spotted filming on the streets of Flixton for upcoming scenes on the long-running soap. Gone was the glam of the weekend as she settled back into Kelly's clothes, donning a pair of jeans, green crop top and camouflage jacket.
Her blond locks were as straight as a die and as the wind blew you could see a pair of big hooped earrings. She was joined by Aadi Alahan actor Adam Hussain who matched his fellow Weatherfield resident's look in an orange hoodie, blue jeans and grey waterproof jacket.
The pair were also snapped between takes sharing smiles with the crew as they kept warm in blue and red Coronation Street-branded puffer jackets. It is unclear what Kelly may be up to in the scenes, but what we do know is that she is still nowhere close to knowing the truth about her dad's death.
She is unaware that her guardian Gary Windass is her father's killer, still blieving her dead mum was resposible. Kelly was distraught earlier this year when her mum, who was dying from cancer and was being cared for by her daughter after reconnecting over her diagnosis, confessed to his murder.
Laura Neelan, played by Kel Allen, took the rap for Gary after discovering the truth about Rick after hirigin a private investigator. After the former bad boy confessed, Laura looked set to go to the police. However, she had a change of heart after hearing Kelly talk positively about Gary and his wife Maria.
She, therefore, didn't go to the police so that her daughter would be cared for by people who care for her. While struggling to forgive her mum, Kelly sadly didn't make it to see her in time before Laura died in hospital, taking Gary's dark secret with her to the grave. But the discovery of her dad's death as led to Kelly inheriting a large sum of money as well as his home.
But after being presented with a bag of cash Gary found while cleaning the house, Kelly disappeared, refusing to put the heaps of cash into a bank account. It has led to many Corrie fans thinking she's trying to do right by the people her loan shark father took advantage of after one man showed up at his funeral and spat on his coffin.
