ITV Corrie star Jude Riordan thrills fans with news about his other job away from soap

Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has thrilled fans as she shared some news about his other acting job away from the cobbles. The 11-year-old is best known for playing Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap.

The young actor won the hearts of diehard Corrie fan when he made his Weatherfield debut in 2020 after he discovered that Nick Tilsley was his father. While getting to know his dad he had a rocky start with Nick's partner Leanne Battersby as she grieved the loss of her three-year-old son Oliver.

And there was more heartache for the once space-mad schoolboy when his mother, Natasha Blakeman, was tragically killed in a case of mistaken identity. As she was laid up in hospital, little Sam told her how much she meant to him and how he was worried he didn't express that he loved her enough when she was alive.

As he struggled to cope with his heartbreaking loss, Sam stopped speaking but with the help of Roy Cropper, he found a love for chess and has since found his spark again. However, Corrie and playing Sam isn't Jude's only job.

The soap star also appears in Sky's Brassic as Michelle Keegan's on-screen son Tyler Croft. Back in December he shared a snap on Instagram in the back of a car, writing: "That's a WRAP on BRASSIC 4. Been another fantastic series with the gang." And Jude had good news to share with fans of the comedy series as series four is on its way.

Sharing the brand new trailer to his Instagram page, which is run by his parents, Jude wrote: "Reposted from @brassicfans_ BRASSIC 4 IS ON THE WAY this Autumn. Sneek peak.So proud to be part of this, fun 4 years with the gang @skytv @nowtv." And fans were soon sharing their excitement.

@southportrach said "I can’t wait!!!! Looks so good." @s6floozy wrote: "I cannot wait... I'm excited for this..." @andy_kendo29 echoed: "Can’t wait for No 4."

@helen210971 replied: "Awesome programme..awesome actors!!" @carole.harmon shared: "Love this, can’t wait." @lydiaalty added: "So excited."

While many will know Jude from Corrie or Brassic, his rise to fame began actually began in 2017 when he appeared on the Channel 4 documentary, The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6-Year-Olds. And the youngster, who proudly hails from St Helens, Merseyside, comes from a talented family as his dad has forged a successful career in showbusiness as a television director.

Paul Riordan broke through in a behind-the-scenes role in Hollyoaks before he went on to earn directing credits for popular soaps such as Emmerdale and Casualty. And Jude's brother, Zach, recently made his own Weatherfield debut as he appeared opposite his brother in scenes aired on the ITV soap.
