ITV Corrie spoilers with Shona in shock exit after David cheating scandal and Daisy's stalker nightmare takes turn for the worse

They've rebuilt their relationship after Shona lost her memory when she was shot in a Christmas bloodbath in 2019, and next week on Coronation Street there's a shock as David Platt turns elsewhere for comfort. After taking a call to tell him that his son Max is nursing facial injuries from an attack while behind bars after pleading guilty to encouragement of terrorism, David ends up drunk and alone in Victoria Gardens.

His old friend Maria Windass is sympathetic, but when David leans in for a drunken kiss, she orders him to go home. Then there's drama as Maria tells her husband Gary about David’s attempt to kiss her.

After Gary confronts David and Shona in the Rovers, Shona is mortified and hurries out. David protests to Gary that he was drunk and he deeply regrets it, but when he returns home Shona tells David that she’s leaving him.

Meanwhile, legal secretary Alya comes face to face with Jayden, a client who is accused of stabbing someone. Before her colleagues Adam Barlow and Dee-Dee Bailey can stop her, she angrily describes exactly what it’s like to be stabbed after she suffered a punctured lung at the hands of extremist teen Blake.

Her ex Ryan Connor listens as Alya unburdens herself and suggests she should put it all down in her personal victim statement. At number 6 Ryan pulls Alya in for a hug and it soon turns into a passionate kiss.

Later, Maria assures Shona that David’s drunken pass meant nothing, and Daniel Osbourne asks Alya if she’d consider going to visit Max. Max explains to Alya how his life was a mess, and David thanks Alya for taking the time to visit his son who was groomed to become part of an extremist and racist group.

Also on the cobbles Carla Barlow suggests she might return to work, unaware that she's being targeted by killer Stephen Reid. Her husband Peter calls at the factory to pick up some files for Carla and explains that she hopes to be back in a few days.

Stephen calls at the flat with a file for Carla and, while her back is turned, he spikes her glass of water with LSD. Carla starts to feel dizzy and disorientated. Peter tells Stephen he’s going to call the doctor.

Elsewhere, Daisy Midgeley's stalker nightmare takes a turn for the worse. The barmaid switches her phone back on, only to be bombarded with a string of texts from Justin. Daisy dissolves into tears in Daniel’s arms.

As her fiance scrolls through Justin’s texts, he asserts that they need to go to the police. Daisy shows PC Scott the recent texts from Justin, but they play it down. Later Daisy returns home and is horrified to see that PC Scott has liked all her holiday snaps.

Daniel suggests they postpone their big day until Justin has been dealt with. Running into Justin bearing a bunch of flowers on Victoria Street, Daisy storms over, hurls the bouquet onto the pavement and stamps on it.

Daisy sees red and punches Justin (ITV)

As Justin places a calming hand on her arm, Daisy sees red and punches him, witnessed by a shocked George Shuttleworth. Justin reveals his mum has just died and he was visiting undertaker George to sort the arrangements. Daisy bursts into tears on Daniel’s shoulder and PC Jess invites Daisy to the station, because Justin has accused her of assault.

Also there are health concerns for Paul Foreman after they break the news to Todd Grimshaw that they’re back together. In the Rovers, Billy chats to Dee-Dee and neither of them notices Paul struggling to pick up his darts.

Then, when his sister Gemma is distraught to receive an adjusted gas bill for £4000, Paul promises to help her sort it. While Billy’s back is turned, Paul struggles to grip a glass with his right hand but hides his concern.
