ITV Corrie's Samia Longchambon confuses herself and fans with bikini display after sharing secret to youthful looks

Samia Longchambon managed to confuse herself and her followers as she shared some snaps from her summer holiday. The Coronation Street star was beaming as she put on a stunning bikini display while cooling off in a rooftop pool.

The actress, who is best known for playing Maria Windass in the ITV soap, could be seen showing off her toned figure as she basked in the sunshine under the clear blue skies. Samia donned a pair of big sungless and a sun hat as she smiled for the camera.

However, one of the pictures she shared appeared to show her body cut in half with her legs and much of her torso on the other side of the pool.

"I should’ve paid more attention in GCSE physics, had to google it... #refraction," the 40-year-old soap star penned alongside the image which she shared with her 420,000 Instagram followers.

For those who don't know, refraction is the bending of light as it passes from one transparent substance into another. And it appears Samia's celebrity pals and followers were also confused.

Loose Women panelist and former Corrie star Denise Welch said: "I still don’t understand that??!!!" @karenlangley_life_ commented: "That just totally messed with my head when I first saw it! until I *went back to school* - great photo though."

@bearboydoes asked: "What am I seeing." @jackieannnoble wrote: "Amazing picture, you learn things every day, never knew this." @ernestjoslin joked: "Thought you'd been part of a magician's trick that had gone wrong!"

Samia also shared a second image taken from above, showing off her animal print bandeau bikini top. And she was soon flooded with compliments. @gouldberg85 wrote: "You don't HALF look gorgeous.. (sorry couldn't resist!).

@k.chandler1964 said: "You look amazing." @deancumberland echoed: "You look amazing even though you look like you've been chopped in half." @dmul.ballymaceire1990 posted: "Beautiful either way. That’s funny though."

Earlier this year Samis stunned fans by revealing she was celebrating a milestone birthday. The Eccles-born star has spent more than 22 years on our screen as Maria Windass - nee Sutherland and Connor - on the long-running soap.

She was just 18 when she made her debut on the famous cobbles as a kennelmaid at the family-run Sutherland's Kennels before she agreed to marry Tyrone Dobbs when he proposed atop Blackpool Tower. Their relationship, however, didn't last and Maria has gone on to face a host of good and bad times in Weatherfield since.

On the last day of her 30's, Samia took to Instagram with a gorgeous selfie of herself from a recent birthday photoshoot with OK! Magazine. The mum-of-two was channelling rock chick glam in a plunging leather jacket and dramatic silver sparkling earrings. Her blond locks had been styled into loose curls while her rocked a dark smokey eye and nude lip. And fans couldn't believe she was turning 40,

And now it seems Samia has given a hint as to how she stays looking so youthful. She paid a visit to the ONE aesthetic studio in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, where she enjoyed a facial. Posting a selfie with William Foley, she penned: "I've been so excited to try the #ultracel treatment.

"Look forward to the results." She then shared a video of her enjoying the treatment as she explained: "I prefer natural treatments over more invasive methods for 'antiaging so really wanted to try this... It's great for skin tightening and firming so I'm in!"
