She's been a favourite with Corrie fans since she arrived on the famous cobbles in 2001, but Fiz Stape could be set to bid farewell to Coronation Street to make a fresh start in a new home with boyfriend Phill Whittaker.

Fiz made her first appearance in the soap as a feisty teen fostered by Roy and Hayley Cropper 21 years ago.

The Underworld machinist and antiques dealer, played by Bury actress Jennie McAlpine, 38, was initially only meant to appear for five episodes but was made a permanent character.

Fiz has been involved in gripping storylines including her serial killer late husband John Stape carrying out three murders and helping him to bury the bodies.

Last year there was heartache for Fiz when partner Tyrone Dobbs cheated on her with Alina Pop.

The character had planned a 'Mamma Mia' style Greek wedding and was devastated to realise that he had feelings for their lodger, who fell pregnant with his baby.

She and Tyrone grew closer together again after her troubled daughter set fire to Alina's flat while she slept, which led to her returning to Romania.

Tyrone and Fiz shared a kiss after she comforted him following the death of his abusive ex Kirsty Soames.

She has since found love again with Phill (Jamie Kenna), whom she hopes to move into a new pad with after selling 9 Coronation Street which she he shared with Tyrone, Hope and his daughter Ruby.

At Christmas a jealous Tyrone battled it out with love rival Phill with an inflatable unicorn.

Next week Phill tells Fiz that he can’t afford the renovation on the new house now he’s lost his job.

And Fiz is further gutted when the estate agent reveals the sinkhole on the street is putting people off buying and she needs to drop the asking price.

When the estate agent reveals that they've lowered the price on Tyrone's instruction, Fiz and Phill are taken aback.

Fiz thanks her ex and says she and Phill are going to move into the new house sooner and start some of the jobs themselves.

But Tyrone is gutted to realise they’ll be leaving Weatherfield so soon.
