ITV Corrie actress Rebecca Ryan desperate for scenes with co-star brother

They both arrived in Weatherfield last year and are both currently starring in explosive storylines on Coronation Street.

But siblings Rebecca and Jack James Ryan are yet to feature in scenes together on the famous cobbles.

Rebecca's conniving character Lydia Chambers has just been unmasked to viewers as her ex Adam Barlow's stalker and is threatening to bring his life crashing down.

Corrie fans have been left terrified for Adam and his wife Sarah after the stalker left threatening messages, called armed police to his solicitors' office and smashed his car windscreen in.

Meanwhile Jack is playing lovestruck teen Jacob, a reformed drug dealer who has fallen for Amy Barlow.

They've been keeping their relationship a secret from her parents because Jacob roped her cousin Simon into the drugs gang led by evil Harvey Gaskell.

Harvey terrorised Simon's mother Leanne Battersby, forcing her to work for him and shot dead Natasha Blakeman thinking that she was Leanne.

Rebecca says it's a 'shame' that she and her younger brother haven't crossed paths in scenes and has thought up ways it could happen even just briefly.

Back in November when she was confirmed for Corrie, her sibling announced the news with a photo of the pair together on the iconic street.

"till can’t believe this is happening but I’m beyond proud to finally announce my ridiculously talented sister @rebeccaryan___ is joining the cast of @coronationstreet," he typed.

"When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I’d say 'an actor on TV like my big sister.' "You’ve been my biggest inspiration and I’ll never be able to articulate just how proud I am to be your little bro.

"They say never work with family but on this occasion I’d like to strongly disagree."

"We've not managed to have any scenes together," she told us and other press.

"I was thinking 'could we not just have one where I’m just the background of one of his scenes, just walking past?'

"But no, we’ve not managed to get one together yet which is such a shame."

And Rebecca, who shot to fame playing Debbie Gallagher in the gritty Manchester comedy drama Shameless and went on to play pupil Vicki MacDonald in the Rochdale-based school drama Waterloo Road, revealed the sweet way she makes sure they get to spend some time together on set.

She added: "We’ve had only very few days where we’ve both been in but every now and again we are.

"Sometimes if we’re both in I’ll either come in a bit earlier if he’s in, or a bit later and I'll take him home just so we have a bit of time together on the set.

"It’s great when we’re in at the same time, it’s fantastic!"
