Coronation Street viewers pleaded "no" after a heartbreaking end to tonight's show.
Monday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore the fallout after Amy Barlow was raped by Aaron Sandford. The character, played by Elle Mulvaney, is traumatised after the incident and has since opened up to her onscreen parents.
Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow were both distraught and urged Amy to report Aaron to the police. However, the storyline tackles the issues surrounding non-consensual sex and frustrating scenes last week showed the police unable to press charges against Aaron.

Tracy persisted in tonight's show and staged a protest to urge the police to act. There was also an emotional conversation between Amy and Peter Barlow as he vowed to always support her.
Rumours about the incident began to spread around the street as more people become embroiled in the story. This prompted Amy to lie to her parents and try to downplay the severity of what happened.
Amy was in tears at the end of tonight's show as she attempts to deal with the trauma of what happened to her alone. However, viewers following the show on Twitter were concerned by the distressing ending.
Sue said: "Amy's story will come right eventually. They can't leave this as is; such an important story line"
Yasmin added: "No that's not the way Amy you can't let this go just like that."
Pam commented: "Amy, no no no! Please reconsider"
Ryan tweeted: "Oh no Amy wants to change her statement"
