ITV Coronation Street stars cosy up at 'dysfunctional family' dinner but one person is missing

They may not have always seen eye-to-eye on-screen but Coronation Street's 'dysfunctional family' looked happy enough together off-screen.

Dubbing themselves the ITV soap's 'dysfunctional family', Millie Gibson, Kel Allen, Mikey North, Charlie De Melo, and Georgia Taylor all headed out for a spot of dinner over the weekend and documented the whole thing on social media.

Corrie fans will best recognise the actors for playing Kelly and Laura Neelan, Gary Windass, Imran Habeeb, and Toyah Battersby.

All five of their characters are currently spending more time on-screen as they gear up towards some dramatic storylines.

Viewers have watched in the last week as Toyah secretly helps Abi Franklin after she gave birth to a surprise baby but unbeknown to her, the little boy is actually her partner Imran's child after he and Abi had a one-night stand last year.

This week, the news about Abi's baby will reach Weatherfield when it ends up on the front of the local newspaper and Imran will be seen quizzing Abi on whether he's the father.

Meanwhile, Laura is back on the scene and returned to the cobbles last month to tell her daughter Kelly she is dying. While she didn't believe her at first, Kelly has since been doing all she can to help her frail mum.

And last week, to help the teen manage her job at the barbers, Trim Up North, and school work as well as looking after Laura, Gary and Marie said she could move in with them.

However, they were soon feeling on edge when Laura revealed she was hiring a private investigator to track down her estranged husband Rick in order to get some money to leave for Kelly when she dies.

As viewers know, reformed villain Gary killed gangster Rick in 2019 and buried him in a shallow grave in the woods before pretending he'd gone on the run.

While most people in Weatherfield are none the wiser, Maria does know what her husband did and is equally concerned about Laura's quest to find her estranged husband.

But back to life away from the cobbles and it's a lot less dramatic for the stars of the soap.

Millie was the first to take to Instagram with a snap of the group sharing some wine as they smiled for the camera. 'Dysfunctional family...' the teen actress wrote alongside the snap.

She then shared another gorgeous picture of her alongside Kel and Georgia, writing: "Two mamma's," as both have cared for her character in the ITV soap.

Another image showed Kel, who looks set to leave the cobbles due to her character's terminal cancer diagnosis, grinning as she held onto a figurine that had been mimicked on Laura with long blonde locks, a patterned shirt, red skirt, and ankle boots which was also holding her phone.

"Big mamma and little mamma," Millie, who looked stunning with her hair in mermaid waves and rocking a baby pink top, captioned the photo which Kel also shared with her own thousands of followers.

Kel also posted some snaps from the evening, including one alongside her on-screen daughter and Mikey, who stood out in a patterned shirt, and another of her cuddling up to Georgia and planting a kiss on her cheek.

"I bloody love her," she wrote across the snap before throwing her arms around a smiling Charlie for another pic. "Our Charrrlie bab!" Kel said.

But there was a noticeable absence, Mikey's on-screen wife Samia Longchambon who plays Maria. "@samia_longchambon we missed you," Kel wrote on one of the posts.

Samia, who was busy acting as a judge alongside her husband Sylvian during a charity event on Saturday night, reshared the post and said: "Gutted to have missed this epic night with my dysfunctional fam!"
