Coronation Street star Ellie Leach has been showing off a fresh new look while her on-screen character faces a worrying time. Fans of the ITV soap will best know the actress for playing Faye Windass.
During Monday night's trip to Weatherfield (April 4) viewers saw Faye and boyfriend Craig discover their flatmate Emma Brooker was still seeing Jon Spear, the son of Ted who Fays knocked over on New Year's Day with Emma in the car before finding him dead in his flat and covering up their involvement.
Faye and Craig, who quit his job with the police after discovering what had happened and helping his girlfriend, were furious with Emma when Jon showed up at their flat because he had forgotten his phone. Jon had not long before asked Emma to move to Australia with him as the pair struggled to ignore their connection.
But upon discovering their secret liaisons, Faye told Emma: "How could you be so stupid?" before she and Craig made it clear that she needed to call things off with Jon as she couldn't face giving birth in prison after recently discovering she is pregnant.
Torn, a heartbroken Emma was later seen trying to end things with a devasted Jon. However, as Corrie fans will guess, this isn't the end of the story as the truth is set to come out ahead of Alexandra Mardell's, who plays Emma, exit from the long-running soap.
Away from the storylines, viewers will have spotted actress Ellie Leach, who plays Faye, sporting long dark locks. But in real life, the 21-year-old has gone for the chop and took to Instagram to show off her new do.
Posing for a selfie, the soap star was covered in the glow of the sun as it set and she sat in a car. "Golden hour," she captioned the snap which debuted her fresh hair cut, having had a few inches chopped off the length so it sat around her shoulders.
And fans were quickly flooding her with compliments.

Corrie viewers are yet to see Ellie's changed look on-screen with filming happening at least a month in advance. But soon they'll be seeing scary scenes for Faye and Craig when she fears she is losing their baby.
In scenes to air on the soap this week, Jon will be seen demanding answers when Faye ends up blurting out that she and Emma are responsible for his grandad's death.
Later, Faye tells Emma she thinks she is losing the baby and at the hospital, Craig and Faye await the scan results but are left shocked by what they are told.
