ITV Coronation Street's Simon Barlow actor Alex Bain looks loved-up with girlfriend in night-time beach snaps

Coronation Street star Alex Bain looked more loved-up than ever as he jetted off on holiday with his girlfriend. The actor, who has grown up on screen playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, shared that he was heading off on a trip earlier this week.

He took to his Instagram Story to reshare a snap his other half Mollie Lockwood had posted of the pair at the airport. "Our flight is delayed," she said while looking cosy in a purple hoodie.

The pair did eventually get on their flight and before they knew it they had arrived in Reus, a city in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. Alex later returned to the photo-sharing platform with another selfie, writing: "We do be looking cute still even at the end of the night," tagging Mollie.

Alex and Mollie also headed off to the beach and posed for some cute night-time snaps on the sand. One showed Alex, 20, picking Mollie up into his arms with the setting sun in the background and the waves rolling in behind them. And they couldn't get enough of each other, with the lovebirds planting a sweet kiss on each other's lips.

The soap star, who has played Simon in Corrie since 2008, could be seen wearing an open linen shirt and beige shorts as he stood barefoot in the water with Mollie donning a blue-and-white two-piece crop top and shorts set while holding a Louis Vuitton handbag. The second photo showed Mollie posing solo in the same spot, with her sunglasses scarping back her wavy locks.

Captioning the photos to his thousands of followers, Alex wrote: "Our first night in Spain. Someone told us beach pictures look cool." An identical post was also made by Mollie with Alex's co-star among the first to comment.

Jack James Ryan, who plays Jacob Hay, said: "You guys," with a face holding back tears emoji. Alex was soon replying, writing back: "Thank you we try our best."

And their friends and followers were also gushing over the sweet photoshoot. @jamietlynch wrote: "@alexbainofficial that photograph is beautiful my mate! Have a wonderful time both of you." @julzbokkiefowler said: "Awwww - gorgeous couple - gorgeous photos - you lovebirds have the best vacation in Spain - enjoy life - have fun - sendin' lot's love."

Earlier this month Alex showed a completely different look as he 'celebrates birthday' five months early. The soap star took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his 'lovely' meal with his 'girl' with his thousands of followers. In one clip, Alex could be seen getting ready to get stuck in to a lamb kofta at The Botonist.

He smiled at the camera as he waited to tuck in to his hanging kebab and fries. But he looked almost unrecognisable from when we last saw him on-screen in Weatherfield.

Alex was seen sporting a moustache as well as more dark facial hair around his chin while his curly locks looked longer than usual. He looked completely different from his Weatherfield character as he sat with his arms folded on the table while wearing a black button-up shirt decorated which was emblazoned with various patches.

And it appears staff thought it was Alex's birthday. The Blackburn-born actor was seen grinning alongside a yummy dessert which has a 'Happy Birthday' card attached. "Apparently it's my birthday now," he laughed. "Thank you @thebotonistuk for my five-month early birthday wishes!" He added a string of crying laughing emojis as he saw the funny side
