ITV Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon reveals painful injury on the cobbles as she resorts to unusual remedy

Samia Longchambon took to social media to share how she had suffered a bit of a mishap while at work on Coronation Street. The actress, who plays Maria Windass in the ITV soap, then had to opt for an unusual remedy to help ease the pain of her accidental injury.

Posting to her Instagram Story, Samia shared a photo of herself not quite ready to get in front of the camera on the country's most famous street. She could be seen outside one of the houses on the cobbles donning Maria's new cosy green coat over a green and pink leopard print shirt.

Her blonde locks were styled into soft waves while her fringe framed her face. Giving a smile for the camera, she could be seen holding a drink can onto her neck.

"Burnt my neck with my curling tong..." Samia 40, typed alongside the image. "How's your morning going?" she then asked before explaining: "Using a cold can to cool down couldn't get any ice."

Last week ahead of heading to work, Samia shared an honest post about looking forward to a fresh week after saying the previous one was "not my favourite". The soap star could be seen relaxing on a sofa with a cup of tea in hand. She gazed up to the camera while donning a vibrant green jumper for the selfie.

"Last week was not my favourite.." Samia admitted. "If yours wasn’t the best either, here’s to starting a new week fresh with a positive mind, and some good tea (or coffee if you prefer)." She then added: "Hope you’re all ok.. take it easy."

Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn was among the first to reply, writing: "Must’ve been something in the air," alongside a red heart. Former Corrie star Angela Lonsdale, who is set to join Channel 4's Hollyoaks, replied: "Love you Sam," before Kate Ford, who stars in the ITV soap as Tracey Barlow, left s simple heart emoji in the comments section.

Also last week, Samia showed her support publically for her fellow Corrie star Mollie Gallagher as it was revealed she's been partnered up with her husband Sylvain Longchambon for Dancing On Ice. It was revealed earlier last month that the actress Mollie, who plays Nina Lucas in the soap, would compete in the ITV show's 23 series, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, ahead of its return in the new year.

After weeks of training without having a skating partner, Mollie finally found out who'll she be competing with in the New Year, and it just so happens to be Samia's husband. Posting a picture alongside Sylvain on Instagram, Mollie wrote: "'Next up skating is… Mollie & Sylvain.'"

Sylvain also posted the same snap to his own Instagram page and shared his joy at discovering who his partner was. He penned: "Meet my dancing on ice partner @mollie.gallagher_, I hope she’s ready for a great series!! Keeping it in the Coronation Street family!" And in the comments, Samia wrote: "You’re both gonna be ace!"
