The wedding may have gone ahead but married life has got off to a bad start for the new Mr and Mrs Whittaker in Coronation Street. Phill and Fiz have enjoyed somewhat of a whirlwind romance since they first met following Fiz's heartbreaking split from Tyrone Dobbs.
But after saying 'I Do' in front of a small number of family and friends in scenes aired during Friday night's trip to the cobbles (July 8), Fiz's true feeling emerged as she told Phill it was over during their wedding reception at the Bistro before running off into the arms of her former partner.
Meanwhile, Phill was back at the Bistro informing his guests of what had happened before launching into a rendition of Build Me Up (Buttercup) on the karaoke in front of his confused audience.

Corrie fans were left divided over the twist and next week they'll see Phill doing all he can to win Fiz back, unaware that it is because of her true feelings for Tyrone came flooding back to the surface.
Lucky for Jamie Kenna, who plays Phill, it wasn't his real big day so he was able to look back at the fancy soap wedding, which was filmed at a luxury wedding venue in Cheshire, with fondness.
The actor, who joined the long-running soap last year, took to his Instagram Story to share a series of pictures he took during the filming of the scenes alongside his glam co-stars. "Who else would I want at my wedding?! Jamie remarked alongside a seflie he had taken of himself, all suited and booted, in front of Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, and Evelyn Plummer actress Dame Maureen Lipman.
He then called two more of his co-stars, aka his on-screen wife Jennie McAlpine and Maria Windass star Samia Longchambon, 'beauties' as he snapped them mid-way down the aisle, surrounded by flowers and curtains.
And the pair did look stunning, with Jennie wearing a white, off-the-shoulder gown with her curly hair styled into an up do with only a few strands of her fiery red locks hanging down to frame her face. Samia, who was acting as a bridesmaid for Fiz, donned a purple summer dress with the pair seen clinging onto a beautiful bouquet of flowers each.
Jamie also couldn't forget the younger stars of his on-screen family, as he posed for a selfie with Jennie, Samia, Isabella Flanagan and Macy Alabi, who play Hope Stape and Ruby Dobbs in the ITV soap. The young actresses looked beautiful as they dressed up in sparkling gold and pink gowns for the special filming occasion.
"It's my wedding day!!!!!" Jamie also shared, giving a close-up of some of the finer details - an order of service for the big day. "Order of service for the wedding of Fiona Stape & Phillip Charles Whittaker," the front page read before confirming the date, time - 2.30pm if you're interested - and where the evening reception was being held.
