Lucy Fallon has excitedly revealed the gender of her unborn child after hosting a 'wild' baby shower with her family, friends and former Coronation Street co-stars. The former soap actress announced in September that she's expecting her first child with footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson.
The pair's joyous baby news, which they announced when Lucy was five months pregnant, came after she suffered a tragic miscarriage earlier this year. Lucy, from Blackpool, and her Preston North End footballer Ryan's bundle of joy is due on February 2, 2023.
And Lucy and Ryan have now revealed that their first child is a boy. The mum-to-be shared the news with OK! magazine as she celebrated her impending arrival with her soap star pals, including Helen Flanagan, and 100 guests at the plush Shankly Hotel in Liverpool.

"I wanted it gender neutral on the day because I hadn’t made it public that we’re having a boy then," Lucy, who played Corrie's Bethany Platt, told the publication when chatting about her baby shower. "We found out the gender at 16 weeks. Obviously we weren’t bothered either way, but Ryan was so convinced we were having a girl.
"I’d been so sick at the beginning and neither of my sisters were sick when they were having their boys. And when you send people the 12-week scan, everyone tries to guess and everyone was saying, 'It's definitely a girl.'" It was at Lucy’s 16-week scan that she was handed an envelope disclosing the gender of the baby.
She and Ryan opened it in front of close friends and family at home before a second reveal at her baby shower. But Lucy said that even prior to that, she felt certain she was expecting a boy. "I knew. I just had this really strong feeling,” she told OK!. "The night before I said to Ryan, ‘I bet you £500 it’s going to be a boy.’ He still hasn’t sent me the money!"
Lucy's baby shower was attended by 100 guests, including Corrie favourites Helen, who played Rose Webster, Sally Ann Matthews [Jenny Connor], Ellie Leach [Faye Windass], Colson Smith [Craig Tinker] and Katie McGlynn, who starred as Sinead Osbourne - nee Tinker - in the ITV soap.
Guests were able to sip on fizz from their very own prosecco cart and enjoyed a rousing DJ set that went on into the night with Lucy among those keen to hit the dance floor. Lucy’s guests also enjoyed afternoon tea and got stuck into a game of rock’n’roll bingo.
"We’re very fortunate that it happened again for us," Lucy, who took a pregnancy test while on a trip to the Maldives, told OK! when revealing her pregnancy for the first time. "We weren’t putting pressure on it and I was trying not to put pressure on myself and then it just ended up happening that way for us. It was obviously just meant to happen."
