Coronation Street stars Harriet Bibby and Daniel Brocklebank once again showed their closeness off-screen while their on-screen relationship remains strained amid Summer Spellman's decision to be a surrogate for Billy Mayhew's parishioners.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, Summer has been embroiled in a web of lies after falling pregnant with boyfriend Aaron Sandford. The pair had decided to terminate their pregnancy, however, Mike and Esther's offer of money, and Aaron's dad in need of rehab, Summer agreed to give up her child.
However, when she suffered a miscarriage, rather then telling Mike and Esther the truth, Summer continued to lie in order to get more cash from the couple to send Aaron's dad Eric back to rehab after he relapsed. Meanwhile, Summer's guardian Billy has been none the wiser.
That was until Aaron told Billy the truth after Summer agreed to be Easther and Mike's surrogate, this time with the baby's being Mike's, after they found out that there was no baby. And when Billy found out, he threatened to go to the police before being talked down by former flame Paul Foreman.
But when Billy changed his mind and went to see Summer, Aaron informed her that she was nowhere to be found and she doesn't want anyone to look for her. Luckily, things are much different for Summer and Billy stars Harriet and Daniel off-screen.
Dan took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of the pair getting stuck into a bit of Christmas shopping. Harriet could be seen donning a pink outfit underneath a black leather coat with a matching black beret. She grinned for the camera alongside a smiling Dan who looked smart in a black top under a grey long-line coat and black jeans.
The pair were also surrounded by Christmas trees and festive decorations as they posed for the camera. "Festive shenanigans with the tv daughter @harrietanneb," Dan typed alongside the sweet image before adding: "I adore this lady." And Harriet was quick to respond in the comments, writing: "Love you!"
And while fans were quick to compliment the pair, some were making a joke in reference to their current storyline. @sallykay61 said: "Thank goodness you found her! Merry Christmas." @susiedoz joked: "Where did you find her. Gorgeous pic." @janette.adair.31 wrote: "Awww.. A lovely photo of you both."
@andrewsmusiclessons posted: "Awww how wonderful! So lovely to see what good friends you are off screen. Makes life so rich!" @zo_private_x commented: "Looking smart both of you." @cora.hall.77 replied: "Beautiful picture." @soheilacollins added: "Gorgeous photo."
It comes after the pair were spotted out for dinner with James Craven, who plays Aaron in Corrie. The trio headed out last week and were seen smiling for a snap in the fancy restaurant. "A perfect Tuesday evening. Dinner with these two beauties," Dan wrote alongside the photo.
