ITV Coronation Street's Georgia Taylor shows fans what Toyah and Imran's flat is really like

There are often lots of questions about the properties on one of the country's most famous streets but now Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has given insight into the flat her character lives in.

The Toyah Battersby actress chatted to Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled ITV show on Friday (May 20) ahead of a huge week on the cobbles in a storyline involving her character. The long-running soap teased 'carnage' on the cobbles earlier this week with a 40-second trailer featuring Toyah's new husband Imran Habeeb and the mother of his son, Abi Franklin.

It comes as the pair's fight for custody of baby Alfie intensifies in the coming weeks and the residents of Weatherfield will face the consequences in an unmissable week of episodes of the ITV soap.

Appearing live from the Salford-based set, Corrie fan Lorraine, 62, said to Georgia, 42: "You're in your little house in Coronation Street, in the set of course. I'm just looking behind you..." The presenter's excitement got the better of her as the camera panned out to show more of the room. "Oo, look at this!" she exclaimed.

Asking Georgia if she could see other character's homes and other parts of the set, the Wigan-born soap star let her and ITV viewers into a set secret, getting the cameras to spin around and show exactly what she could see which happened to be camera equipment in a warehouse-style setting. "And just to the right there, that's the solicitors office," Georgia added.

But back to the on-screen action and a haunting preview for the special week of episodes, which begins later this month, starts with Abi and Imran locking eyes and features Imran’s wife, Toyah, holding a crying Alfie.

Later, a panicked Adam, appears, while Toyah is comforted by Leanne and Nick. Like a creepy carousel, around and around it goes, as more neighbours are pulled into Imran and Abi’s abyss. "Secrets unravel, truths hurt and lives well and truly turn upside down as the lengths Imran went to to take baby Alfie away from Abi are revealed," MD of continuing drama and head of ITV in the North, John Whiston said.

And Georgia herself appears to have confirmed that too, telling Lorraine: "It’s lie upon lie. You kind of think, will the ghosts of all of Imran’s misdemeanors catch up with him? The answer is, it’s a soap – so yes. But the question is, what will the repercussions be, and what will they be for Toyah as well?"

It has already been revealed that Toyah's former boyfriend Geoffrey David Nugent - aka Spider - will be treading the cobbles once more this summer. It has been more than two decades since the character, played by Martin Hancock, made his debut and he'll be appearing in scenes to air July for the first time since 2003 when Spider left the cobbles.

Speaking about Spider - and Martin's return - Georgia told Lorraine: "He started a few months later than me, and then we worked together for a good three years. It was mainly, Toyah was infatuated with him, she was following him round like a little puppy dog but he was like, 'No, she’s a bit too young, let’s just be friends'.

"Then eventually they did get together and then he left, but actually the character of Spider came back to take Toyah away when I left the show in 2003. They left as a couple, but obviously, in all that time off-screen they didn’t stay together, and we’re saying they haven’t actually seen each other for about 17 years. So it’s gonna be interesting."
