ITV Coronation Street's co-star siblings in childhood throwback as Jack James Ryan backs his older sister over Lydia role

Their characters are yet to interact on-screen but Rebecca and Jack James Ryan are still enjoying time on the cobbles together.

The siblings are both currently appearing on the ITV soap as Jacob Hay and Lydia Chambers.

After months off-screen, Jack made his big return to screens earlier this year as Jacob became the secret love interest of Amy Barlow.

Meanwhile, Rebecca's character Lydia Chambers made her first appearance in Weatherfield back in December.

After losing her PA job when she turned up drink for a meeting, she ended up being employed by Carla Connor at Underworld.

Unbeknown to the factory boss and Sarah Barlow, Lydia is hellbent on revenge and has set Adam Barlow up to make it look like they've been having an affair.

With the bunny boiler storyline unravelling, Jack took to Instagram and backed his sister during a fan Q&A.

Jack was asked about working with his sister on Corrie and he had the sweetest response.

"An absolute dream come true, we're super close outside of work so it's just like getting to work with your best mate," he said.

He then went on to talk about her and how different she is to her character.

"Side note: I'm so proud of her, she'd been killing it on Corrie" Jack, 25, gushed. "I know first hand how hard it is for the fans to get behind the villains but she deserves all the love!!

"If you hate Ludia then you know @rebeccaryan__ is doing an incredible job. She couldn't be any less like her character in real life, she is a literally angel lol."

Jack also shared a sweet throwback snap from his childhood with Rebecca, 30, and their other sibling, Charlie, who is also in the acting world.

He was asked: "When did you know you wanted to be an actor? When did it all click?"

He replied: "LOOK AT US!!" alongside a picture of them as kids. "I've known I wanted to be an actor from a really young age.

"Both my brother and sister are actors and I grew up watching them on stage and screen and it was so inspiring.

"So basically, I just copied them," he added before tagging his older siblings.

Jack went on to share a TikTok video of himself and Rebecca on the famous cobbles.

Set to the Friends theme tune, I'll Be There For You, it featured the pair driving to and from work while enjoying singalongs and enjoying breaks from filming on the ITV set.
