ITV Coronation Street's Antony Cotton supported after Queen's Platinum Jubilee honour

Antony Cotton has been supported by his co-stars after he was awarded an MBE.

The soap star has played Sean Tully on the Cobbles since 2003. Away from the screen, the 46-year-old is a patron for Help For Heroes and is the first celebrity ambassador for military charity the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

Antony was "overwhelmed" as he was recognised in the Queen's birthday honours for services to British Army personnel and veterans. He told his Instagram followers: "I am completely overwhelmed by the MBE, given to me in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee birthday honours

"Working with our amazing armed forces, in particular the British Army, has truly been the greatest honour of my life. I share this with all our service personnel and veterans."

Antony's co-stars rushed to congratulate him after the update.

Samia Longchambon said: "Amazing work well done darling!"

Sally Dynevor commented : "Fabulous Antony. Well done"

Kym Marsh posted a heart emoji and Brooke Vincent applauded the post.

Eastenders actor Adam Woodyatt commented: "Congratulations."
