Coronation Street's Alex Bain has announced he has quit social media for "personal healing".
The soap star is renowned for his role as Simon Barlow on the Cobbles. The actor regularly shares updates from her personal life with his 24.4k Instagram followers.
However, Alex has thanked fans for sending messages of support as he confirmed he will be stepping away from social media. He said: "Due to recent personal life events, I will be taking a break from all forms of social media.

"I'm sure you can all understand. I will still be around however, because of certain numbers of comments made on the recent articles, and numerous other personal reasons, I will be stepping away for a while to work on myself and personal healing."
"For now, unless it's necessary for me to be here, I will be very absent for a while. Remember everyone: try to be kind to the people in the world, as under the surface no one knows everyone's own struggles.
"And to those who have messaged me personally: I have seen them and I thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
The update comes amid reports the Corrie star has split from his fiance, Mollie Lockwood, as he has removed images of the two together. The two have been in a relationship since 2019 and got engaged in October 2021.
