Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has teased that he could leave the cobbles if his character follows his heart. The actor is best known for playing Aadi Alahan in the ITV soap and in recent weeks viewers have watched the teen strike up a romance with Kelly Neelan.
The friends had been pretending to be engaged in order to enter a Win A Dream Wedding competition that could have seen them jet off abroad. In a plot to get their hands on a holiday, Kelly told the Gazette that she and Aadi are engaged and to qualify, the pair had to take part in a Mr and Mrs Quiz.
But as the young lovebirds then got to work on getting to know each other better, one thing led to another and the pair ended up losing their virginity together. They soon shared with each other how they wanted to continue their new sexual relationship. A smitten Aadi gave Kelly his late mum's ring to continue their charade of appearing as though they are engaged.

It wasn't long until they decided to get engaged for real and faced backlash from their families. Aadi and Kelly then plotted a plan to elope to Gretna Green but Maria Connor's son, Liam, accidentally blew their plan. Following Dev's reaction to their planned nuptials, the teens have decided to hold off on their wedding and instead host an engagement party.
But the celebratory event is set to turn to horror as Kelly's plan to get Gary killed after she discovered he was responsible for her dad Rick's death three years ago goes terribly wrong and both Gary and Kelly end up in danger and their lives hanging in the balance over the Manchester skyline.
Before what could be their final face-off - as it has been confirmed that Millie Gibson is bowing out of the soap as Kelly - there is the matter of the engagement party and as it approaches, Kelly reveals to Aadi she has booked them both one-way tickets to Bangkok after hiring a hitman to murder Gary.
While it's unclear whether Kelly will be able to continue with her plans to escape the country, Adam, who plays Aadi, has said his character "would give up his life" for his fiancée considering his strained relationship with his dad and sister, Asha.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, Adam said: "I think, ultimately, Aadi would give up his life for Kelly. He’s not having a good time at home in the street – he’s been in car crashes and set on fire and being dumped, and now he’s finally found someone who understands him. So I think, given the opportunity, he would run away with Kelly."
Talking about Aadi and Kelly as a couple, the soap star added: "They’re quite different in their personalities, but I think they relate to each other with the stuff that they’ve been through. Neither of them have anyone to understand them or talk to them about those things, but they could do that with each other. That’s what made him fall in love with her, because he couldn’t relate to anyone else. They’re a good match. Kelly brings out a good side to him, a rebellious side."
Adam was also able to tease the big scenes ahead as Corrie brings forward its Super Soap Week forward to September. The soap has gone all out for the scenes, heading out to RecodeXR Studio in Trafford Park to film with special equipment used for mega movies like Avengers and Disney+ series The Mandalorian. And Iain believes they are the first soap opera to use the incredible technology.
Hinting he may be involved in a stunt of his own as he shared what it was like to film the scenes, Adam said: "I think it's brilliant. Just working on such an amazing script and story, to be able to do stunts because of the cameras and a big green screen and the volume walls that they use in Hollywood films, and to be able to work with those devices and having the crew work phenomenally.
"Everyone who worked on that was absolutely amazing. I think it was one of the best shoots I have ever done. In the end it all looks really amazing. I can't wait to see it once it's on TV."
