Jamie Kenna said he was "gutted" as he announced his Coronation Street exit.
The 48-year-old has played Phill Whittaker on the Cobbles since 2021. The character arrived on the Cobbles when Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs' relationship was on the rocks.
He quickly hit it off with the character, played by Jennie McAlpine, and their romance continued to go from strength to strength. The two were set to be married, but Fiz had second thoughts and has rekindled her relationship with Tyrone.

Phill made a last ditch attempt to salvage his relationship, but he has since admitted defeat. Jamie has taken to Instagram to reveal his character is set to depart the show now that Fiz and Tyrone are back together.
He said: "I’m gutted but all good things come to an end! Thanks for all your love & support!"
Jamie shared a short clip on set outside the antique shop where Phill and Fiz first met as he thanked his co-stars for their support. He added: "The modern day Jack and Vera are reunited and I feel so honoured to have played my part in that.
"Jennie and Alan [Halsall] are the best people to work with and I've been so lucky. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the love and support over the last year.
"I have had an absolute blast. I love this place and this show. Who knows? Maybe it isn't the end and they'll bring Phill back, but for now it's a massive goodbye from me."
