Coronation Street star Sally Carman said she had the 'best job' as she returned to work to a surprise from her co-stars. The actress, who plays Abi Webster in the ITV soap, spent some time away from the cobbles to enjoy a sun-soaked honeymoon with her co-star and new husband Joe Duttine.
Sally and Joe, who is much-loved by fans for playing Corrie's Tim Metcalfe, tied the knot in an intimate church ceremony last Friday (July 15). The soap couple announced the news in an Instagram post shared by Sally to her thousands of followers. The 41-year-old shared their very first wedding snap which showed the newlyweds sharing a kiss, both with a glass of fizz in hand, stood under a stunning balloon arch.
The bride looked stunning in a floor-length, lacy blue gown while her new husband donned a pale blue suit with white shirt and a grey flat cap. "We did," Sally captioned the romantic snap, which appeared to be taken in a church, before the congratulatory messages came flooding in from their Corrie co-stars.
Sally and Joe have since been enjoying an Italian honeymoon with Sally keeping her Instagram followers updated. They swapped Weatherfield for the likes of Verona and Lake Garda. Sally, 41, shared the first snap from their honeymoon over the weekend. It showed the pair dining alfresco with some pals with her commenting: " Italy, the gift that keeps on giving," alongside a string of yellow heart emojis.
The former Shameless actress was also soon gushing over her hubby as she posted a picture of him relaxing, watching the world go by. " Fit husband," she wrote with a yellow heart before repeating herself in the hashtag. She later shared another which showed Joe enjoying some refreshments, donning a sage-coloured shirt and flat cap.
"Husband," she wrote alongside the picture with a yellow heart. "Did you know I just got married?" she then asked having shared a number of posts about her man. And fans were still thrilled by the news. @ rachesmodernlife said; "Ahhh so happy for you both! Seems like only yesterday that you ‘met’. Sending love and hugs."
@rmoody2609 commented: "So happy for you you gorgeous couple." @jayloustarkey replied: "So happy for you both !! It’s amazing news such cute couple." @proctorlauren added: "Aw you guys, too cute."
But it was soon time for the trip to end and Sally was back on the street and got quite the lovely surprise from her co-stars who wanted to help the newlywed continue to bask in her new marital bliss. She took to Instagram to share a photo of her table in a dressing room which was covered in decorations and gifts.
In the picture, a 'Just Married' banner could be seen stuck across the light-adorned mirror while a 'Mr & Mrs' sign sat across the dressing table alongside flowers, balloons and a bottle of fancy champagne. "I have the best job in the world," Sally posted alongside the snap. "Thank you @coronationstreet @realgeorgiataylor @julia_goulding @cazlcampbell I just love you ."
