Coronation Street fans were glued to their seats as they watched Kelly Neelan's plans to have Gary Windass bumped off unfold. The ITV soap was back in its unusual slot on Wednesday night (September 21) following some disruptions to the TV schedule.
After discovering her guardian was actually the one responsible for her dad Rick's death, and not her late mum he confessed on her death bed to his murder, Kelly set about getting revenge and hired her kidnapper Kieron as a hitman.
In the latest trip to the cobbles, after he gave a heartfelt speech at her and Aadi Alahan's engagement party, Kelly told Gary she knew he had killed her dad. She then legged it out of the Bistro, luring him in Kieron's path.

And before viewers knew it, Gary was knocked out, bundled into the back of a van and taken to the woods where he was forced to dig his own grave. But Kelly later had a change of heart and tried to get Kieron to stop. But after she told him the hotel she was at, he arrived and kidnapped her again.
Meanwhile, Gary had just got to the hotel to warn her after he managed to escape his captor's crutches by hitting and killing him with a shovel.
It has already been that things are set to take a turn as Keiron double crosses Kelly and tells her he will kill them both and make it look like a murder-suicide. Upon a rooftop overlooking Manchester, both Gary and Kelly's lives are in danger and when a gun goes off, Corrie viewers will be left wondering who survives and who is gone for good.
But despite knowing Millie Gibson, who plays Kelly in the ITV soap, has already filmed her final scenes, Corrie fans think there could be a tragic twist in which Aadi dies trying to save her. Soap fans think they figure out the twist after Aadi shared an emotional moment with his dad, Dev, and twin sister Asha.
As he pulled them to one side at his engagement party, he thanked them for being there and asked Asha that he wants her to be his 'best person' when he gets married. As Dev, teared up, Aadi suggested the trio share a family hug. The trio then embraced and Aadi told them: "Remember this, whatever happens".
While it could be because he knew him and Kelly were running of to Thailand for an undisclosed amount of time, others think it could be a hint that Aadi dies. @mikepriestley13 asked: "Anyone got a feeling aadi might die as a shock factor? #Corrie." @naseem028 echoed: "Why do I have a feeling they're going to swerve us and kill Aadi off #Corrie."
@noelphobic tweeted: "Please don't let Aadi get hurt. It would be like shooting Bambi's mother. #Corrie." @JamieTVandNews shared: "Everyone now thinking what I've been thinking since yesterday. Do not kill off Aadi! #Corrie." @naseem028 added: "My guess is that Aadi ends up dying trying to save Kelly and Kelly leaves afterwards #Corrie."
Corrie fans have also been quick to point out that Gary killed Rick in self defence after the gangster took him to the woods where he had dug his grave. In scenes aired in 2019, a fight broke out and Gary ended up dealing a fatal blow and burying Rick.
@ct1979 said: "Why does no one mention the fact that Rick was going to kill Gary and had tortured him? In the soaps no one ever explains lol." @catherine_caulfield wrote: "Garry had no choice I don’t like this killing and torturing it’s upsetting to watch what is the point in her mother taking the rap in the first place." devonlouise97 added: "He never meant to, it was either Kill or Be Killed. Gary had no choice. As much as I like Kelly if she was mature enough she would understand this especially after everything he had done for her."
