Coronation Street fans were horrified when newbie Aaron told girlfriend Summer Spellman he had been 'jumped' before meeting her in the Rovers. Viewers of the ITV soap were first introduced to Aaron, played by James Craven, earlier this year after he met Summer at a diabetic support group.
The pair hit it off but their budding romance quickly hit the rocks when Summer, played by Harriet Bibby, openly told Aaron about her struggles with an eating disorder. He did a runner but later returned to share how he too had suffered. They have since been back on good terms and were planning on ditching Weatherfield for a summer away together.
However, their lack of funds got in the way and while Aaron picked up a job at the garage as a trainee under Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs, Summer bagged a role at the Underworld factory. During Wednesday night's edition of Corrie (July 27), viewers saw Aaron get to work on Stephen Reid's car.

However, he didn't quite fix it and before Kevin could realise, amongst his own personal stress, Stephen had taken the car. But it wasn't long before he was phoning up the garage owner, shouting the odds as the car had broken down. Aaron apologised and while Kevin demanded he help fix it, the teen rushed off.
Kevin assumed it was to meet Summer and while he did plan to meet her on her lunch break, something happened in between leaving the garage and arriving late to meet his new love interest. After initially being annoyed by his late arrival, Summer was back smitten with Aaron.
But when she tickled him, Aaron flinched and as she demanded to know what was wrong, he soon claimed he had been jumped and attacked in the street. She then asked to look at the damage caused and Aaron showed Summer the severe bruising to his stomach and side.
The teen was horrified and urged him to get help, advising him to see a doctor at the walk-in clinic, and report the incident to the police. Aaron, however, was reluctant and he stormed out, telling her she "wasn't listening to him". The pair then headed off back to the flat where she lives with her guardian Billy Mayhew.
But while there, Aaron received what appeared to be a concerning phone call. "Five? I thought you said it was... sorry, okay, I'll come now. No please don't, I'll leave now, right now," he was heard saying, clearly panicked. "Sorry it's my mistake, I just got mixed up," he added.
Then, as Summer walked back into the room, Aaron pretended he was calling the police and reporting his attack, leaving his girlfriend happy he had changed his mind. But Corrie fans think they have figure out what he is really hiding.
@conormckenna101 tweeted: "I feel like Aaron’s being physically abused by his father or something along those lines #corrie," to which @vivvy50 replied: "That’s what I thought." @floweroflondon asked: "Is Aaron being beaten up by his dad? #Corrie." @MeeshyJay said: "Aaron is definitely being abused #Corrie."
@010101ray shared: "Guessing a family abuse storyline is coming up with Aaron #Corrie." @LilMissMystic shared: "I thought Aaron was hurting himself but it sounds like he’s being abused #Corrie." While @teenamassam suggested: "I wonder if it was Stephen that beat Aaron… #Corrie."
