Coronation Street fans have been left surprised by Shona Platt during the most recent trip to Weatherfield. The ITV soap character, played by Julia Goulding, was causing a distraction for Amy Barlow as she tried to work in Roy's Rolls.
The teenager is currently preparing for her exams but it has become more difficult to revise after leaving her home due to her mum and dad, Steve and Tracy, disapproving of her new boyfriend, Jacob Hay. With no money, and no electric, Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, took her work to the café.
But while she tried to work, Shona got swept up in the music and proved she had a hidden talent with a rendition of Abba classic, Knowing Me, Knowing You.

The character could clearly tell Amy wasn't impressed by her singing to the customer's thanks to her and Jacob's flaring looks. Picking up on their disapproval, Shona said: "I take requests" before continuing on with her work behind the counter.
But Corrie fans were soon heading to social media to have their say on Shona, or should we say actress Julia, belting out the memorable tune. @FLady1980 tweeted: "#corrie @itvcorrie Can we have more Shona singing please, loved her singing voice tonight"
@ShakyWoon commented: "Shona singing 'Knowing Me Knowing You' by ABBA! Beautiful voice she's got! #Corrie." @BeeE2002 wrote: "Shona is a pretty good singer! #Corrie." @JamieTVandNews replied: "Not the worst voice, Shona. Ah-haaaa #Corrie."
However, not everyone was impressed and was soon comparing Shona to another iconic TV character. @JEMMAMC86 said: "Shona is driving me mad with her 'Knowing me, knowing you' #Corrie @itvcorrie." @GregDav94758992 simply tweeted: "Shona Partridge... #corrie."
@PhilipCSwales echoed: "Shona, doing her Alan Partridge impression. #corrie." @joy9kat complained: "Shona used to be such a brilliant feisty character. Completely ruined #Corrie."
Julia, who has played Shona in the ITV soap since 2016, has been chatting about who she'd love to make a cameo on the street - and play her sister. She told Inside Soap that she'd love to invite a certain Line of Duty actor to join the cast.
"Obviously, Vicky McClure – she'd be my sister. I mean, come on!" she said when asked who she would most like to see make a Weatherfield cameo. She's brilliant in Line of Duty (as Kate Fleming) – we need to get on the phone to her. Although she always plays a detective, and that wouldn't be good for Shona. There's always something to be dug up, especially around the Platt family!"
