Coronation Street fans have been full of praise for Daniel Brocklebank and Harriet Bibby after the pair shared emotional scenes during Monday night's episode.
Viewers have known that Summer Spellman, played by Harriet, has been struggling with her diabetes diagnosis and issues around her body image. In scenes aired last week, Amy Barlow reappeared at the flat Summer shares with her guardian Billy Mayhew, played by Dan, to find her making herself sick after the pair ate cake and bacon rolls.
Summer begged Amy not to tell Billy and not wanting to betray her friend's trust, she didn't say a word until scenes aired at the start of the week when Summer ended up in hospital.
The student, who has been none stop studying for her exams to guarantee her place at Oxford University, was found slumped in Victoria Garden beside a box of alcopops that Jacob Hay was trying to flog after buying them from Evelyn Plummer to make some extra cash as he and Amy struggle to scrape together money for rent and bills.
When the police arrived, they made the assumption Summer was drunk and took her to the station after an anonymous tip-off from Simon Barlow who was out to get his own back once again on Jacob for his past mistakes. Over at the station, Amy and Aadi Alahan arrived and informed PC Craig Tinker that Summer hadn't been drinking and that it could be her diabetes.
As he rushed to the cell, Craig found Summer in a diabetic coma and later, she was seen in hospital being told she could go home with concerned guardian Billy Mayhew by her side. Back on the cobbles, Billy bumped into Amy who was worried for her friend and ended up telling him that Summer has been making herself sick.
Heading home, Billy spoke to Summer, asking her if anything was troubling her and if there was anything she wanted to talk to him about. Eventually, the teen opened up and told Billy everything she has been feeling. The pair shared a heart-to-heart with the vicar vowing that Summer will get through it and that he'll get her the best possible help.
Taking to Twitter after the latest episode of Corrie aired, Harriet tweeted: "Thank you for all the lovely comments on tonight @itvcorrie being trusted with this storyline is a great honour," and her message prompted more responses from soap watchers.
Dan, who has appeared in the soap as Billy for eight years, also took to the social media platform to say: "@Dan_Brocklebank Thank you for all of your lovely comments about tonights’ @itvcorrie I adore working with @HarrietBibby. She’s a cracking actress & a beautiful person. #Blessedd," to which Harriet then replied: "Enjoy working with you so much! Thanks Dan."
The actor also took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes selfie of the pair when they were filming the hospital scenes. Harriet was seen lying in the bed in a hospital gown smiling for the camera while Dan took the snap, wearing his trusty grey coat and clerical collar.
"A little 'behind the scenes' snap from tonight’s episode with this one @harrietanneb @coronationstreet," Dan shared alongside the snap to his thousands of Instagram followers as Harriet once again replied. "The best scene partner!" she wrote as fans started flooding the post with their own messages.

Others, however, were distracted by another detail - Dan and Harriet's seemingly mathichg outfits.

An eagel-eyed viewer also spotted it as the scenes aired, tweeting: "Obviously the main question from last nights corrie is, does Billy get his vicary shirts made out of Weatherfield hospital gowns #Corrie."
