ITV Coronation Street fans say they have spotted a 're-hashed' storyline in recent episodes of the long-running soap. Drawing parallels with a 90s script, Corrie fans couldn't help point out they have watched a similar Weatherfield scenario play out before.
In recent weeks regular viewers of the soap have watched Kelly Neelan and Aadi Alahan's romance blossom. According to Manchester Evening News' showbiz writer, the storyline started out with two friends deciding to have fun by pretending to be engaged in order to enter a Win A Dream Wedding competition. The prize could have seen them jet off abroad.
With a Mr and Mrs Quiz looming, the pair got to work getting to know each other better. After sharing a kiss the pair admitted they wanted to continue their new relationship.

Aadi gives Kelly his late mum's ring to continue their 'engaged' charade but they keep the news a secret. But the secret can't be kept when Kelly's guardian storms into the restaurant having seen them making front page news in the Gazette. Brandishing her phone, a shocked Maria revealed the pair were engaged to an equally shocked and disapproving Dev and Gary (Dev is Aadi's dad and Gary is one of Kelly's guardians).
The next bombshell comes when the pair hatch a plan to head to Gretna Green to elope. However, Coronation Street fans are already fearing the worst for the pair amid the news that Kelly actress Millie Gibson is leaving the soap.
Facebook was soon alight with comments and predictions from fans. One said: "Didn't Nick and Leanne run off to Gretna Green many years ago?" Another said: "I remember Nick and Leanne eloping to Gretna Green and look how that turned out."
A fellow viewere asked: "Wonder if they will stay in the same place where Nick and Leanne was when they got married in Scotland." With another saying: "First thing I said to my husband was 'Nick & Lianne did that!'"
But another fan spoke out in defence and said: "Is it a rehashed story line from years ago? Well maybe it's a recurring theme in real life. People go to Gretna Green to get married."
Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley had a whirlwind romance in 1997. However, the marriage soon fell apart when Nick forced Leanne to have an abortion, and afterwards Leanne's life spiralled out of control.
