It was all change on Monday night as Coronation Street returned to it's former timeslot and just seconds into the episode, the drama of what is to come was almost revealed. The custody battle for baby Alfie is set to be the centre of this week's episodes of the ITV soap.
Things have been difficult between parents Abi Franklin and Imran Habeeb after the recovering drug addict lost custody of her surprise baby son to his father and new wife Toyah. Viewers have since watched mechanic Abi be on her best behaviour despite lawyer Imran using shock tactics to get his way.
However, the long-running soap has already teased a horror crash from Imran and Toyah and the first trip to Weatherfield of the week appeared to reveal the culprit behind the shock smash.

As the episode got underway, Corrie gave fans a glimpse of the chaos that lies ahead. It included a number of police cars and officers on the street as Imran was heard speaking. Imran, who framed Abi to make it appear as though she was still using drugs, was leaving a chilling message for Toyah in which he revealed everything.
With emotions boiling over Abi, Kevin, Imran and Toyah will go head to head. And as questions start to be asked about how the crash happened Abi and Kevin find themselves under suspicion from the police. But witnessing the sudden change to the usual programme, before Abi's plan to kidnap Alfie and run off to Costa Rica continued, Corrie fans took to social media to share their confusion.
@Rozzy67 said: "#Corrie have I missed an episode? What's going on?!" @_Ce_Ce__ tweeted: "That beginning confused me. #corrie I wondered what I'd missed then." @Suebeloo1971 asked: "…. Anyone else completely confused and thought they’d missed an episode when #Corrie started tonight?"
