ITV Coronation Street fans predict deadly twist as they try figure out crash culprit

Coronation Street fans were left shocked and confused by the end of the latest trip to the cobbles. The ITV soap was back on screens on Tuesday night (May 31) for a half an hour episode in a change to its usual transmission and those tuning in were treated to more drama from Abi Fraklin, Imran Habeeb, and his wife Toyah.

The trio have been locked in a custody battle over Imran and Abi's surprise one-night stand baby, Alfie. But the latest episode picked up where Monday night's left off, with Imran discovering Abi had purchased fake passports and was getting ready to flee with their son to Costa Rica.

Abi broke down and ended up escaping the flat, with Imran left being confronted by Abi's husband Kevin Webster who tried to get the solicitor to see the error of his ways after lying in court about the mother of his child being back on drugs. But Kevin's pleas didn't fall on deaf ears.

His words came after Imran was shamed by his former foster daughter Kelly Neelan into realising he had to tell the truth and come clean about framing Abi in court to make it appear that she was still using drugs. Therefore, Imran decided not to go to the police about Abi's abduction attempt, much to Toyah's dismay.

However, the councilor wasn't having any of it and set off to the police station. Imran went in pursuit and left her a voicemail telling her he needed to speak to her. Luckily for Imran, he got to the police station in time and convinced Toyah they should go home. The scene cut from the newlyweds to her sister Leanne and partner Nick Tilsley anxiously waiting with Alfie.

The drama then returned to the Habeebs in the aftermath of a car smash, with Toyah slumped at the wheel and Imran also unconscious in the passenger seat with the pair having crashed into a wall with a scaffolding structure teetering on the edge of collapse. While the 'missing' stunt confused viewers, others were trying to figure out what could possibly have happened.

As they know, during Monday night's episode (May 30), Kevin tampered with their car in a bid to stall them so Abi could get Alfie and get on with her plan to leave the country. Then on Tuesday, Imran was seen heading to the garage where the couples car was parked outside. However, with no one working, Imran couldn't ask if the vehicle was fixed and safe to drive.

Pauline said on Facebook: "Imran just took the car without asking if it was finished and he had been drinking so the blame for the accident lies with him." @MeeshyJay tweeted: "Oh Imran is getting into a car that’s obviously not safe. I wonder how this is all going to end #Corrie."

But some think it may have nothing to do with the car. @lightbebe2020 said: "So he told toyah the truth while driving home and she gets angry at him, not paying attention she crashes into the scaffolding...#Corrie." Recalling a line from the episode, @griannedoherty2 tweeted: "'Abi was gona run off with Alfie, Kevin was helping her. Imran doesn't want me to report it. He suspected didn't he? If she comes anywhere near him. I swear if Imran's lying to me again I'll kill him' - Famous last words there potentially Toyah #Corrie."

Letitia said on Facebook: "Looks like she has possibly been on her phone while driving, maybe trying to talk to Abi." Samantha also said: "I reckon Toyah was using her phone while driving that's naughty. I reckons Toyah will die from the crash then Abi will get her little bubba."
