Fans of Coronation Street pleaded "no" as the soap took a dark turn this evening.
Max Turner, played by Paddy Bever, is currently facing the consequences of his actions in prison after he played a part in creating videos inciting hatred against refugees and other groups. While he wasn't physically holding a knife the propaganda he helped to make caused an horrific attack at the Speed Daal, where Alya Nazir was badly wounded after being stabbed.
Now the youngster is serving time in a secure training centre after being handed a custodial sentence. But things are only going from bad to worse for him as a group of lads have been targeting him intending to make his life hell.

Fans are accusing the group of "bullying" Max, especially after tonight's episode where he was brutally attacked. The teenager was left bruised and bloody as they set upon him and gave him a good beating.
On Twitter, TJ said: "10 months of an abuse bullying storyline… begins!! #Corrie please no. Just no. I think I speak for everyone. 10 months you ask? That’s how long Max has been sent away for. Oh God help us."
Sophie said: "Uh-oh Max is being bullied again, welp I'm sure a video about cockroaches will sort them out! #corrie". Justin said: "Oh no, Max has been beaten up by two boys in prison! #Corrie."
Simon said: "Max is doing his time. Bunch of bullies. #Corrie." Jennifer said: "#Corrie Should have a warning, this is a violent drama that some may find upsetting, now Max being beaten up in prison, I've also heard Daisy has acid thrown in her face, #Corrie has become a miserable violent drama."
The prison had to let Max's guardian, David, know what had happened. Later on Maria and Gary found him sat on his own in a garden in a right state. Maria took pity on him but Gary's temper began to rise before he stormed off.
