ITV Coronation Street fans left with unusual question after Phill and Tyrone fight scenes

Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads as Phill Whittaker and Tyrone Dobbs got into another squabble over Fiz Stape. The pair, known for their comedic scraps, are both smitten with the Underworld machinist.

Ex-Tyrone saw his opportunity to win her back when she left Phill. Earlier this week in the ITV soap, Fiz's daughter Hope discovered information on her mum's boyfriend before trashing his car with a mini digger.

Later, Fiz dumped Phill after finding out he was planning a book about her late husband, serial killer John Stape. Mechanic Tyrone was quick to seize his opportunity and let Fiz move back in.

He called at the huge house Fiz shared with Phill to collect her things. As Tyrone berated a downcast Phill, who wanted to see Fiz to explain one last time, the warring lads lost their balance and fell into wet cement.

Tyrone was the first one to make his way up back to solid ground and taunted Phill, who was still in the concrete. He then revealed that he’d lost an engagement ring and was planning to pop the question to Fiz. Tyrone got back into the cement and found the ring after Phill explained its sentimental value.

Phill produced a hose to rinse off the concrete before heading back to the street and told Tyrone to strip. The pair then ended up in their pants in the garden.

Many took to social media to share their thoughts on the scenes. Some viewers had a rather unusual question. @gary67uk said: "Would like to know what that so called funny coloured concrete really was?" @wigmankim echoed: "What did you use to make the 'cement.'"

@djb0607 tweeted: "#corrie that was like comedy cement?" @ronniegraham4 commented: "That's the weirdest looking concrete I've ever seen. It looks like grey gloop or grey lumpy jelly. #Corrie #coronationstreet." @chrisb99_uk then argued: "Ffs. Isn’t wet concrete supposed to be highly toxic and cause burns? #corrie #coronationstreet."

Taking to Instagram after the scenes aired Alan Halsall, who has played Tyrone in Corrie for 24 years, shared a smiling snap of himself and Jamie Kenna, who plays Phill, smiling while covered in the 'cement'. He penned to his followers: "This Just 'cements' the fact…. It’s a weird and wonderful job we do at times… but I love it

It comes after the soap star shared his disdain for having to film the brawl scenes. "It was a freezing cold day in Didsbury," he told the Manchester Evening News and other press. "To be wet through in a garden somewhere wasn't a great deal of fun but what we've tried to do in these little moments is to have a lot of fun with it and really put a smile on the audiences' faces."
