ITV Coronation Street fans hysterical over e-fit but spot major change

Coronation Street fans found themselves unexpectedly hysterical during the last trip to Weatherfield.

There was drama for Faye Windass and Craig Tinker as the net finally closed in on what the factory worker and pal Emma Brooker had done.

On Friday's night's Corrie Faye finally confessed to her boyfriend that she was involved in the hit and run being investigated by him and his colleagues.

As fans of the ITV soap know, when driving home after a New Year's Eve party, learner driver Faye was behind the wheel of her dad's taxi when she knocked Ted over.

The elderly gentleman, who had dropped his shopping and biscuits rolled into the road, manage to get back up from the knock and the girls helped him home.

After returning home to Weatherfield, Emma and Faye kept quiet on what happened but they began to feel guilty and went back to check on Ted.

But when they let themselves in, they found him dead in his armchair.

For weeks the girls have been trying to glean information from PC Tinker as he revealed his involvement in a suspicious death case.

But during Friday night's hour-long episode, Craig showed his girlfriend Faye an e-fit of a suspect they believe was in Ted's flat on the day he died after being identified by a delivery driver.

Faye confessed (ITV)

After admitting to recognizing the person in the picture, Craig laughed and told Faye it reminded him of Emma.

An emotional Faye then admitted what happened leaving her other half in a dilemma.

But Corrie fans couldn't get over the e-fit and flocked to Twitter with their thoughts.

@DavidMackayyy tweeted: "Absolutely cackling at that e fit #corrie."

"If that’s the e fit god help the weatherfield police that’s an insult to Emma that drawing #Corrie," @mikepriestley13 said.

@chichi_writes commented: "That e-fit is hilarious. It looks like a cartoon character. #coronationstreet #Corrie."

"Worst E Fit I’ve ever seen #Corrie," @TellyChat_ added.

But eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a change.

Earlier this week Phillip Schofield mocked the e-fit on This Morning when Sharon Marshall appeared for her latest soap segment.

As he and his co-host Rochelle Humes laughed, Phil admitted: "That has got to be the worst e-fit I have ever seen in my life. It looks like someone from outer space."

Following its reveal on Corrie, @suniyah09 tweeted: "I’m glad you saw fit to change it as your original E-fit was atrocious #Corrie."

"By that e-fit was changed at the last minute... its not the one that was shown in the daytime tv shows... #Corrie," @BIsbeki said.

@S829MLY noted: "They've changed from the original e-fit as shown on TV earlier this week.. #Corrie."
