There were tears for Abi Webster on Coronation Street as husband Kevin made a reappearance as she waited for news on her baby son. Abi - and viewers - were shocked last week when she gave birth to a surprise baby, a boy she has since named Alife, at 28 weeks pregnant.
The labour shock on the ITV soap came amid a drug and booze bender after Kevin walked out on her after he discovered she'd had a one-night stand before they tied the knot. But in emotional scenes, Kevin arrived at the Weatherfield hospital's NICU where Abi's premature baby boy had just been taken for surgery after she was told he had problems with his bowel.

Seeing her husband in the hospital corridor, the new mum broke down before Kevin took her in his arms with him assuming the baby is the result of a fling with her ex Tez, after Abi went along with the lie and didn't tell him her one-night stand was actually with Imran.
Kevin waited with Abi until Alfie's surgery was over and she was given the good news that the procedure went well. But when she asked if Kevin wanted to see him, he told her: "If it's all the same, I'll stay here," with tears in his eyes.
Later, Kevin told Abi that he wanted her to stay at No.13 while she fought for custody of baby Alfie. When she returned back to the house, she found out that Kevin's son Jack hasn't taken the news very well and would be staying with his auntie Debbie for a while.
But there was soon an awkward moment when Abi mistook Kevin's kindness as a hint they were going to give their marriage a go and she was rejected.
Abi then decided it was best if she didn't stay and headed off with a bin bag of her stuff, bumping into Imran and his fiancee Toyah in the street. But when Toyah offered her their spare room, Imran jumped in and said it wasn't a good idea, leaving Abi without a roof over her head.
Coronation Street fans, however, were quick to call out Kevin over his 'double standards' as he himself has a track record for being a love cheat.
As they rightly remember, mechanic Kevin had an affair with colleague and neighbour Tyrone Dobbs' late partner Molly while he was married to Sally Metcalfe, which resulted in Molly giving birth to his Jack before she tragically died on the cobbles in 2010, with Tyrone believing Jack to be his before the truth came out.
So Corrie viewers were quick to point out his 'hypocrisy' and ask if he's 'forgotten' his past.
@itzzzo_ tweeted: "Abi stay at Kevin’s for Alfie’s sake where Kevin can’t pretend to be angry and hurt at what you’ve done cause it’d make him a hypocrite if he did seeing as Jack is a result of him cheating #Corrie."
"Kevin must have memory loss.. didn’t he sleep with Molly when he was with Sally? and that’s how Jack was made… #corrie," @_mariekx said.
@randomstuffxzxz pointed out: "Kevin being all high and mighty even tho he had an affair and had a secret child whilst poor Sally had cancer #corrie."
"Jack was the product of an affair to Tyrone's mrs Molly Dobbs & poor Tyrone thought Jack was his for a long time so yes double standards to Kevin," @joanne_griggiths_ said.
@lezleyb65 added: "So Kev can father a child with a young girl while his wife is battling breast cancer... but that's all forgotten..."
