Coronation Street fans have been left asking 'who is getting married?' after Harriet Bibby teased the upcoming nuptials. The actress, who plays Summer Spellman, took to Instagram on Thursday (April 6) with a selfie as she headed to work on the ITV soap.
While it wasn't clear if she was on the Salford-based set, Harriet could be seen sporting one of the long-running soap's big red puffa jackets. The 24-year-old gave a slight smile towards the camera in the close-up snap with her blonde locks tied back with just some strands curled and framing her face.
"Wedding ready," she wrote across the post but didn't reveal who would be trying the knot. The most recent soap wedding ended in horror when bride Daisy Midgeley was faced with her stalker Justin Rutherford. Corrie fans were left shocked when Justin, played by Andrew Still, returned to the cobbles on Daisy's wedding day and unleashed a horrific attack.
After months of torment from Justin, Daisy was finally ready for happy ever after with Daniel Osbourne after a series of hiccups tried to ruin her big day. But things took a devastating turn when the barmaid's stalker lurked in the shadows at the Rovers Return as she and Ryan Connor, who was drafted in as chauffeur as well as DJ for the wedding, locked up the pub.
In her wedding dress and ready to head to the venue, the barmaid's blood ran cold when she heard Justin's voice. After suggesting things were too perfect for her, Justin hurled acid in Daisy's direction. But in a shocking twist, Ryan Connor stepped in and was left writhing and screaming as the substance burned through his face and arm.
While Daisy and Daniel don't appear to be planning to marry any time soon, there is another wedding on the cards. Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter are preparing to walk down the aisle after Gemma revealed earlier this year that she’d like to get married, which came as news to Chesney.
Despite struggling financially, Gemma has been enthusiastically planning for her big day with the help of her brother, Paul Foreman. He had planned to help his sister out with her financial worries prior to being left unable to work after an accident. However, he has since been given the terrible news that he may have motor neurone disease meaning his money worries, after taking out a loan, only look set to worsen as his condition progresses.
But it appears Gemma and Chesnye's wedding day is approaching as cast members of the ITV soap having been spotted filming on-location, with Sam Aston, who plays Chasney, pictured alongside Jane Hazelgrove, William Flanagan, Alan Halsall and Jimmi Harkishin, who play Bernie Winter, Joseph Brown, Tyrone Dobbs, and Dev Alahan respectively.
Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew, was also snapped on set, as was EastEnders legend Jacqueline Leonard, who appears as Linda Hancock on the ITV soap as the mother of Chesnye's late ex Katy Armstrong, which appears to confirm that she will be back on the cobbles for the big wedding, and Peter Ash, who plays Paul.
