Coronation Street could be set to lose four characters in next week's episodes.
Fan favourite Alexandra Mardell confirmed her exit scenes will be broadcast on Friday's edition of the long-running show. The soap star has played Emma Brooker on Corrie since 2018 - and confirmed the date of her departure during an interview on This Morning.
Alexandra's character has endured a turbulent year on Weatherfield since she covered up her involvement in the death of an elderly man named Ted. Emma has become romantically involved with Ted's grandson, Jon, who has yet to discover she played a part in his grandad's death

The details surrounding her exit have yet to be revealed, but what is known is that her secret will be exposed in this week's episodes - as Mirror Online reports.
Jon has planned to open a beach bar in Australia and offered Emma to move with him Down Under. While his reaction to finding out Emma is partially responsible for his grandad's death is still unknown, it looks like the character will also leave the show this week when Emma exits Weatherfield.
However, his departure is also being kept under wraps - and, if Emma does land herself in trouble, there is a chance he could stick around a little longer, in a possible bid for justice.
Another fan favourite set to depart Coronation Street is Fiz Brown, who is about to pack up her things and moves away from the cobbles for the first time since her 2001 debut. The character played by Jennie McAlpine doesn't seem to be leaving the show entirely, and spoilers show she soon returns to her job at the factory, where she appears to have doubts over her big move.
But if she does stay with Phill, questions remain over whether a more permanent exit be on the cards.
Next Friday's edition also seems to be the episode when Laura Neelan could tragically lose her life following her battle with cancer. While this isn't confirmed for sure, it appears to be the case as Gary Windass learns in this episode that she has just hours left to live.
Spoilers reveal Gary is tasked with granting Laura's final dying wish to have one last hug with her daughter Kelly, who is refusing to see her. As Gary pleads with Kelly to see her mother one last time before it is too late, will she be with Laura in her time of need?
It does seem as though Laura could sadly pass away in this episode, which would make her the fourth exit of sorts in the same week.
