ITV Coronation Street blunder spotted as Kelly Neelan attempts to escape kidnappers

Coronation Street fans were confused as Kelly Neelan attempted to escape her kidnappers in tonight's show.

The character, played by Millie Gibson, has been abducted by her criminal dad's old acquaintances. The kidnappers later revealed they have taken Kelly in a bid to get £50,000 ransom money.

Gary and Maria Windass were concerned about her whereabouts at the start of Monday's episode. The two realised something wasn't quite right when they received a text from Kelly that included a reference to her mum, who recently died.

Gary proceeded to investigate her whereabouts, while Kelly desperately tried to hatch an escape plan. When her kidnappers left her alone, Kelly used the voice activation on her phone to contact Gary.

However, Gary left his phone at home while he investigated his whereabouts so couldn't answer the call. Viewers following the show on Twitter were baffled at how the character could forget his phone at such an important time.

Bobby said: "You're worried about your foster daughter being missing so Gary put’s his phone on silent & leave’s it on a random table

Dan added: "With Kelly missing and possibly in danger, Gary leaves his phone unattended."

Jan posted: "You're desperately worried about somebody, so that's the single time when you leave your phone at home!"

Helz commented : "So, you know a young girl is in trouble and you leave your phone behind yeah right!!"
