ITV confirm Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return to This Morning together

ITV have confirmed that This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will not be leaving the breakfast programme in the immediate future and will be back presenting from the sofa tomorrow.

The channel has confirmed to The Mirror that they will be back in their normal positions on Monday May 14. This comes after reports which suggested their pair were going through a rumoured feud.

It had previously been reported that Holly was so "upset" about their rumoured fall-out that she could be absent from work on screen tomorrow morning. ITV has since confirmed to Mirror the duo will however be presenting together as normal at the start of the week.

However it could be a bumpy return for the veteran TV hosts who have faced a number of controversies in recent months. These have included the furore around queue skipping to see the late Queen lying in state, Phil taking time away from This Morning while his brother was on trial for sex crimes, and that Holly was absent when Phil finally returned to screens.

It emerged this weekend that Holly had reportedly cut ties with her long-time TV co-host and close friend. The Mirror exclusively reported last night that she had been pushing for ITV to make a decision on Schofield so she can rebrand herself and plan for the future if required.

But it seems the presenting duo are sticking together for now and will attempt to weather the storm. The pair have had an impressive 14-year run of presenting This Morning together.
