Britain's Got Talent returned to ITV last night for its 16th series and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli joined Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on as a new judge on the panel.
The first episode of the new series created a huge buzz online as Bruno made an impression with fans by hitting the Golden Buzzer for a Ugandan dance group during their performance - which has never been done before.
The first Golden Buzzer for the 16th series went to Ghetto Kids, formed of 30 kids who live in an orphanage in the African country. Bruno was seen dancing through their performance before excitement took over and he hit the button mid-performance, which left the children finishing the last half of their routine amongst the golden confetti.
The unexpected performance caused a lot of chatter online, with many saying that Bruno is a "breath of fresh air" and what the show needed to draw an audience in after the departure of David Walliams.
On Twitter, many Britain's Got Talent fans shared their thoughts on Bruno's first appearance on the show. Louise Garbutt said: "Just go to show no one’s irreplaceable! I’m a huge David Williams fan but after one episode of watching Bruno, I’m completely in love! He’s adorable."Another user added: "I actually for once didn't need to fast forwards the judges to Simon. Bruno did far better being a newbie."
Meredith Richards said she enjoyed Saturday's performance so much that she can't wait to watch the second episode tonight, on Sunday, April 16 at 7.45pm. She said: "Can’t wait to watch it again tonight! Bruno was hilarious." While Jane Kleimunt said: "I thought @BrunoTonioli did a great job. A different perspective and I liked it! It was a good first show and well done all!"
One fan commented that the dynamic between the judges seemed nicer with Bruno now on the panel. She said: "Bruno is an excellent replacement, much nicer and funnier. I watched for the first time in ages last night's and the whole dynamic between judges was a LOT nicer! Another added: "Loving @BrunoTonioli he’s a breath of fresh air."
However, some fans don't think it's the same without David walliams. One user said: "Can we have David back please? The others are trying to be whacky and it's not working."
