ITV Britain's Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli 'nervous' ahead of debut on show

Bruno Tonioli has admitted he was nervous ahead of making his Britain's Got Talent debut later tonight. The former Strictly Come Dancing star joins his fellow judges before the first live auditions.

In a short clip released ahead of the show, he admitted he is "terribly nervous" and feels like a "kid on Christmas Day." He was named as the latest judge earlier this year following the departure of David Walliams, The Mirror reports.

Bruno has joined long-serving judges Simon Cowell, 63, Alesha Dixon, 44, and Amanda Holden, 52, on the star-studded panel. "There's a new kid on the block," the official YouTube account for Britain's Got Talent wrote on Friday, as it shared a new preview clip ahead of Saturday's episode.

Bruno meets his fellow judges before making their way to the famous table. "Oh my," Simon says as the new judge greets them, "I really feel underdressed now."

Alesha adds: "Bruno, I think you need to make more of an effort."

"Are you nervous?" Simon goes on to ask the excited star. Bruno admits: "Terribly! You know as a kid, on Christmas Day - what is this going to be like?"

Britain's Got Talent's host Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly then enter the room, with Ant chanting "Brunooooo" at the new judge. "My God, finally!" Bruno says as he gives the presenter a big hug ahead of auditions beginning.

Speaking on The One Show, Bruno admitted he had "no idea" he had been in the running to join the judging panel on Britain's Got Talent - teasing that he hadn't ever seen the show.

During his appearance on The One Show last night, Bruno said that BGT is "completely different" to Strictly, which he'd been a judge on from 2004 until his departure in 2020.
