ITV Britain's Got Talent fans 'uncover' Witch's identity after 'Scouse' accent

Britian's Got Talent are convinced they have uncovered the identity of the Witch act.

Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden have returned this week for the live semi finals of the popular ITV contest. The judges were spooked by the Witch's creepy performance on Monday.

The Witch recited a chilling chant as a box was placed on the desk. Amanda was terrified as she put her hand inside and pulled out a rat.

The Witch said: "“What’s the matter Amanda? Rat got your tongue?” The act delivered the line in seemingly Scouse accent - as Mirror Online reports.

Although he doesn't hail from Liverpool, Britain's Got Talent viewers following the show on Twitter thought the act is TV host and magician, Stephen Mulhern.

Tina said: “The Witch is going to be Stephen Mulhern. No official Twitter page. So has to be a magician connected to the show. That hasn’t done that for years. And there was only one in the audition #BGT.”

Carly added: "Pretty sure the Witches are Ant, Dec and the one performing tonight was Stephen Mulhern! I’ll be raging if I’m wrong"

Jema commented: "Actually, The Witch DOES sound a bit like Stephen Mulhern #BGT"

@Bazasbooks posted: "So #TheWitch on #BGT is @stephenmulhern getting revenge on Amanda for something that happened on the after show one year. I forget what but anyway he’s a good magician"

Stephen Mulhern addressed the fan theory he is behind Britain's Got Talent's Witch costume last month. He took to his Instagram account and shared a snap with Ant's ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong, to respond to the rumour.

He said: "Everyone keeps asking if I’m the Witch from @bgt! Well you might want to ask @lisaarmstrongmakeup what I look like before she put makeup on me!
