Boy George denies ITV blocked him skipping I'm A Celebrity final and flying home early

It's been reported ITV bosses have banned Boy George from flying home early and skipping this year's final of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Following his eviction from camp on Tuesday night, it had been claimed the celebrity, 61, is keen to 'get out' of Australia altogether, but is contractually obliged to remain Down Under a little while longer.

But the claims are apparently "absolute nonsense", with Boy George's camp insisting the singer is enjoying spending a few days off in the luxury hotel ITV put the stars up in.

The Karma Chameleon singer has dodged ITV's post-exit interviews since becoming the fourth celebrity to be voted off the show, and has been claimed the star isn't keen to stick around to find out which of his fellow campers will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle on Sunday.

Sources close to Boy George claim the Culture Club star wanted to hop on a plane and fly home 'immediately' after Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed the public had voted for him to get the boot.

The singer took to social media earlier this evening to address speculation he had been keen to quit camp as soon as possible.

But ITV haven't granted the star - who was reportedly paid £500,000 to appear on the show - permission to head home just yet, it has been claimed.

The source alleges Boy George's aim was to go into the jungle and show British TV viewers a stripped back version of himself, and the star never actually cared about how far he lasted in camp.

"The fact he has to stay in Australia for days now is an annoyance to him, he isn't fussed about sticking around for the final but that's what he has to do," the insider claims.

Speaking to the MailOnline, the source adds: "He's travelled across the world his entire career and has seen Australia before so there's really no reason for him to be here, especially as he isn't concerned with catching up with his co-stars on the other side."

The Mirror have approached representatives for both Boy George and ITV for comment.

"Absolute nonsense and we have no clue where it’s coming from," a representative for the singer told the Mirror earlier this evening when presented with the source quotes.

They added: "He’s enjoying his time with his family in the hotel! Who wouldn’t?!"

While the singer hasn't publicly confirmed or denied rumours he is keen to return home as soon as possible, he has taken to Twitter to clear up some additional speculation regarding his time in the jungle.

"Zero truth to the rumour that I wanted to leave the jungle early," Boy George told his Twitter fans earlier this evening.

He added: "I had an open mind about it. Most campmates said they wanted to leave at some point. I did my trials and I smiled through it. Sitting around for hours was hard for everyone. I got loads out of it on a deep level."

Boy George is currently 'stuck' Down Under at the fancy JW Marriott Gold Coast hotel alongside other evicted campmates like Charlene White and Sue Cleaver, as well as his sister and nephew, who have joined him in Australia.

The luxury five star hotel in the town of Surfers Paradise boasts ocean view rooms, peaceful saltwater lagoons and an outdoor freshwater pool with a slide to a modern fitness centre, and even offers guests the chance to take a cooking class or take a guided tour of the area.

Other than a quick chat with Ant and Dec, Boy George has dodged exit interviews so far (ITV)

Speaking about his exit from camp with Ant and Dec on Tuesday night, Boy George said: "I am sort of ready. I had an amazing time and I've done a lot of things I thought I'd never do. I'm excited to see my sister."

He went on to describe his time in the jungle as ‘beautifully challenging’ and ‘somewhat enlightening’, saying it had allowed him to go on an ‘inner journey’.

Chatting about his jungle stint, the singer admitted: "I had to forget who I was the whole time I was in here, I had to let it go. I just had to get over it. I just had to say, ‘I'm in the jungle, I've had no control.’

"Being really honest, I am happy to go today. It's not something I thought I would ever do but it's a lot tougher than I thought."

He sweetly added: "I think it really makes you appreciate what you have and the people that you love."
