ITV Ant and Dec's announcement at start of Saturday Night Takeaway has fans in tears

Ant and Dec fans were gutted as they discovered it was the last episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Geordie presenters returned to host another edition of Saturday Night Takeaway for 90 minutes.

The episode started with Ant and Dec in Orlando as they celebrated the end of the series. During Saturday Night Takeaway, Murder at Bigwig Manor and Ant vs Dec concluded.

Upset about tonight's episode being the last, devastated fans took to Twitter. Carrie-Ann tweeted: "Gutted it's the last episode of the series! #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

Rosie said: "#SaturdayNightTakeaway sad it's ending absolutely love the show and watching every Saturday!" Katie added: "Not ready for it to be the last one for another year #SaturdayNightTakeaway", followed by a tear emoji.

Liane said: "It’s #SaturdayNightTakeaway finale time I’m soo excited!! Have the best show @itvtakeaway." Vicky tweeted: "Now the last #SaturdayNightTakeaway", followed by a crying-face emoji.

James said: "Here we go! Final episode of the series! #SaturdayNightTakeaway is on now!" Russell Truran said: "Can’t believe it’s the last #SaturdayNightTakeaway of the series already!"

And Michelle tweeted: "It's the final of @itvtakeaway can't believe this series is over", adding two crying emojis.

However, it's not all bad news, as a new fly-on-the-wall documentary all about the making of the show will air at 7pm on Sunday.

Saturday Night Takeaway: Behind The Screens will give viewers an exclusive look into what goes on behind the scenes to create the hit series.
