ITV has addressed the presenting line-up for Dancing On Ice 2024 following Phillip Schofield's sudden exit from This Morning. The host stepped down from his role on the flagship daytime show following a rumoured feud with co-star Holly Willoughby.
Phil, 61, said in a statement the programme had "become the story" and explained that ITV had "decided the current situation can't go on". The presenter also confirmed he was leaving the show with "immediate effect" with his last episode airing on Thursday, May 18.
His statement read: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story. So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."

"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.
While Phil's statement didn't include any reference to his co-host of 14 years, Holly's own statement said the This Morning sofa "wouldn't be the same" after Phil's exit as she thanked him for his knowledge, experience, and humour.
ITV has confirmed Holly will remain on This Morning and will co-present with members of the This Morning family. While Phil will continue his relationship with the broadcaster and will present peak time shows for ITV including next month’s The British Soap Awards and a new prime time series.
And while the focus has been on This Morning, it has not been confirmed what will happen to Dancing On Ice next year. Addressing the show for the first time, an ITV spokesperson told Metro: "Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production."
They added they will make 'further announcements' about the show, including the presenting line-up, in 'due course,' according to the publication. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
