Andy Farrell’s side were still basking in the glory of that epic 32-19 victory over defending champions France in Dublin a fortnight ago, one of the greatest matches that this brilliant competition has ever seen.
It was another key message from the Men in Green that they are peaking at exactly the right time as they look to end their World Cup hoodoo later this year. Farrell made six changes to his team for today’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico in round three, with a bonus-point wrapped up inside an electric first half.
