Silverstone Autosport BRDC Award finalist and Italian Formula 4 dominator Freddie Slater will add a partial GB3 campaign with Hillspeed to his 2025 schedule.
Slater has marked himself out as one of the rising stars of the sport in recent years as a glittering karting career - that included world championship success - was followed by an unstoppable march to the Ginetta Junior title in 2023.
He then swept to Italian and UAE F4 glory last year, as well as finishing runner-up in Euro 4.
Slater's main campaign for 2025 had already been announced as tackling the Formula Regional European Championship with Prema but it has now been revealed that he will also contest an unspecified number of GB3 rounds with Hillspeed in the category's new-for-2025 car that features improved aerodynamics and DRS.
There are four GB3 rounds that do not directly clash with the FRECA series, while both championships are due to be in action over the same weekend at the Hungaroring in July.
"I’m excited to be racing in the new GB3 car with a British team, and I am looking forward to maximising the opportunity of racing with Hillspeed," said Slater, who also made a one-off GB3 outing in 2024 with Rodin at Donington Park, taking a best result of fourth.
"Although I can’t complete the whole championship, we will do our best to fight for wins."
Hillspeed boss Richard Ollerenshaw added: "Freddie is, without question, one of Britain’s top young single-seater stars and his achievements so far in the space of just a couple of years in cars are simply sensational.
"Of course, Freddie’s chief focus is his Formula Regional campaign but the additional experience he will gain in the outstanding new GB3 car, during the race weekends and testing with ourselves, will be a major benefit as his career undoubtedly continues to reach new heights.
"We are very privileged to have a driver of Freddie’s quality, ability and standing in our GB3 team for the coming season."
Slater's fellow Young Driver of the Year Award finalist Deagen Fairclough - who was a dominant British F4 champion last season - will be among his GB3 rivals.
To date, 12 drivers have been confirmed for the 2025 campaign with three-time race winner Will Macintyre the highest-placed driver from last year's table to remain in the series, switching to Elite Motorsport having finished fifth with Hitech GP.
Others also confirmed include British F4 runner-up Alex Ninovic and reigning F1 Academy champion Abbi Pulling, who will be team-mates at Rodin after Pulling's title success earned her a place on the GB3 grid.
