TV show Sherdill Shergill is all set to wrap up on February 10. The show started in the last week of September and is going off air in just four months.
Producer Saurabh Tiwari however says it was always meant to be a finite show. Confirming the news that the show is going off air in two weeks, he said, "Yes, the show will bid adieu to viewers on February 10. I am not disappointed about it wrapping up in four months because it was always slated to be a finite show and it did well in the urban areas. I am glad that we were able to attempt something different and it resonated with the youth."
This is a new beginning and in the future, there will be more finite shows, said Saurabh. "I am confident that going forward in the next two years, there will be many shows made with a fixed number of episodes."
The show, with Dheeraj Dhoopar and Surbhi Chandna in the lead roles, revolved around an architect Manmeet Shergill, who is a single parent to a son. She comes across her office trainee Rajkumar Yadav, who plays her fake husband for her family. And eventually Manmeet falls in love with Rajkumar. The show also had Iqbal Azad, Sneha Tomar and Sai Ballal in important roles.
In an earlier interview with BT, Surbhi Chandna had said in an interview, "My show Sherdill Shergill is about this woman who is fearless and independent. She is also a mother and owner of an architect firm. I found it challenging. The show has been shot in a very different way and we are all glad that we have tried something different in the romcom genre. I am hoping that such a beautiful show doesn't have to succumb to TRP pressure ever."
